stained seats
I trashed my driver seat last night out testing. I had a black magic marker in my pocket and ink bleed all over my new seat . I have tried everything from laquor thinner to a steam cleaner. I'm so pissed off I recked my seat. Any ideas how to get this stain out? :(

Put a sticker over it.

when you get a chance just have a upholstery guy do the seat....usally the seat cushion comes out and take it to him.....

If it is a Sharpie try using isopropyl or ethyl alcohol.
Or you could try some 151 rum :cool-smiley-027: |
Pat,
Summit sells a Vinyl Paint that works pretty good. It may be the least expesive alternative. Thanks again for offering to fix my headers-I just picked them up yesterday from a local welder. See you in Ocean City! Bob G. |
Try hair spray.

Pat,
Take Spray Nine cleaner and mix it with simple green and scrub the crap out of it. Once the vinyl dries it will look a little dried out and then use a rag with armorall and lightly rub it in so that it restores the oils back into the fabric. |
Pat, Have your throttle man put a marker in his pocket and after testing the seats should match. Hows this, I just get done paying a guy for a whole new interior in my executioner, turnaround and the kid in the marina jumps in the boat with a screw driver in his pocket and rips the feakin crap out of it. I called a guy and hey came with this patch kit and fixed it to where if you didnt know where it was you wouldn't find it. Try the vinyl paint it works. Louie

When I was racing with Bruce I remember there being a stain on the white part of the seats, Bruce took a white towel with bleach and left it on the stain over night, looked much better in the morning. |

I've used acetone with amazing results.be sure to use armor all after cause it will tend to dry up the vinyl. It could even take the color off the vinyl so use with caution.

This is a little Far fetched but you would be amazed what "toothpaste" takes off, I never tried it on Vinyl but I dont believe it would hurt to try. The grittier the better kinda like Lava soap. I also talked to my Upholsterer, and he said try mineral Spirits. SPOT TRY FIRST in INCONSPICUOUS AREA. as long as it doesnt change the color of the vinyl, Dab onto Tissue paper and BLOT on the marker. This will eat at the marker and actually melt it. Good Luck!
