it's next weekend, race is Sunday August 24th testing a skiffs on Saturday.
I will be in NY for the races this year. Heading to the island to visit family, what a coincidence I just happened to pick race weekend It's also very convenient that my sister's house in Babylon the next town over.
This will be the first race I have ever attended with my Dad he is 81 and still loves boats and engines. He recently had to give up his cruiser since he has become unsteady on his legs and will be having knee replacement surgery after Labor Day. I want to show him around the pits but he will not be able to walk very far. Dean/Wahoo said I could borrow his golf cart for a little while to help him get around, if anyone else has one that we could use for a little while I would great appreciate it. Donna

Thanks that would be very much appreciated it. I don't know if any of you read this thread from about 4 years ago, it's when he got stuck in the engine compartment trying to change the spark plugs on his boat. He is definately not as spry as he was then, and unfortunately the doctors told him at the age of 81 knee replacement surgery is very risky, it's the the reason I want to visit before the surgery and not wait until after. I think he will have a lot of fun next weekend. I asked him which day he wanted to go and when he heard he might be able get around easier because of the golf carts he said well of course I want to go both days
