Need your prayers
 

I became diabetic at age 9. Today I am 33 years old and is diabetic for 24 years.

Tina and I took our 2 1/2 years old daughter to doctor because we suspected she has bad virus. Doctor tried to figure out and gave it a try to get a blood test. Found out the result is 453. We rushed our daughter Jennifer to U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor this afternoon. Got admitted to the hospital for possible diabetes.

So I am asking....please say prayers and give my daughter Jennifer strengths to get better soon.

Hey Chris - just wanted you to know your family is in our prayers. Our son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 3. He is now 8 years on and on an insulin pump. He's doing well, but it breaks our heart every day knowing he has to deal with such a struggling disease. We wish your daughter and your family well.

Thank you for all of your kindly words. It means a lot to me. It is confirmed that she has diabetes. Her blood sugar is going down which is good news. Will update with you all more later.

Jennifer's update....She looks better and able to talk more! Only thing she crys when she sees doctors and nurses touch her except me and her mom!

They will move her from PICU to floor department this afternoon :)

Jennifer's ivs are out yesterday!!!! She was able to walk around and play in the playground with other kids! Her process is getting better! Doctors are discussing to release her tomorrow!!! *HOPEFULLY*

Updates:

My daughter Jennifer got discharged from the hospital Monday evening and she is doing great. We are watching her to make sure she eats her meals, check her blood sugar, and all that.

Tina and I would like to thank everyone for their prayers and strengths for us to help Jennifer get better. We really appreciate it!!

Chris I am glad she is home now, it must have been a horrible weekend for you all. What was the outcome, does she have diabetes?

Yes, it was pretty emotional for me. When I see doctors put 2 different iv on her, I left because I would not stand watching her getting all hooked up by machines. I am just glad that everything is all over.

Yes, she has diabetes and has to get insuline every morning....I am only one who is diabetes in my family and Tina has someone in her family who has diabetes. I tried my best to prevent her from getting diabetes but it was pretty tough.....

Diabetes is highly in family generation.

I am sorry to hear that, I know it will be tough to have to give her shots and test everyday. I do have several friends that children developed it very young and they are all doing well now, and of course year by year better care is developed and hopefuly one day soon a cure.

Yes, it is tough but my daughter already used to check her blood sugar and get shots.
