Hello, i havent raced much with my own sutphen but i saw it was brought up. If work would allow me to race more i would jump on it. I too think smitty has been very fair. I read the rule book before putting the sutphen together and spoke with those that are in charge. My boat was teched and was legit for class 5. If i am pumped up to 4 then o well. I do know that twin small blocks arent posting high speeds but i think if your boat fits in the class why not let all who has run?

so a single engine 30 canopy that fits in the speeds of class 5 -yes make them happy, its one more happy family racing and being a spokes person for the org.

6 footers? Ya and that was on a jetski going around key west with the gf on the back!!!! :angry-smiley-038:

ahaha best part was when we got back the guide said "I was going to make you turn around and go back with the water this rough, but i couldn't catch you! Best day on the water since I've been here". classic. drive it like you stole it! :drink:

I'm sure smitty/opa will put you in where ever you fit. I don't think there's been one complaint on them being unfair.

Hey Bruce. I think that's why we're going to have the phone call, see if we can get everybody on the same page. The "OUR TEAMS" doesn't mean Mine or Smitty, it means "YOU GUY"S", everything should and is about all of us at OPA. I'm just one of the four guy's that's gotta go into his pocket when there ain't enough money for the sites. I'd love to keep everyone happy but that's not reality so we'll try to do the best we can for all you guy's. Once in a while you do bring up valid points.

Heather,,,i know my boat is a little longer then yours but almost as light and i sit down aswell .

Taking 6-8 at 75-80 MPH ,,,the thing with the lid is u feel alot safer and push it alot more to the limit,,,THATS A FACT.

U be fine in class 4 ,,because not always and i don't care what they say ,they will go 80-85 ,,,also your boat will outturn any bigger boat ,,plus the exelaration on the litlle activator is way more the on a bigger boat,,and that is usually what wins a race.
I would start in class 4 if i where u and then if smitty and augie would realy see (what i don't believe) that your boat has no chances at all,,,i think they be fair enuff to drop u in class 5 !!??

Just my 2c .

That's a great shot but haven't done Ocean City yet...I think I'm still thawing out that early in the season! Keep me in mind if you have any open seats throughout the year.

What's the little guy got for power this year? Its just beggin' for an LS7!

The Bat has a brand new 377 Scorpion. Tyler just dyno it at 403 hp and 435 Torque. Plenty to spank Class 5 :drink:

I can't wait to put the hurt on the Crockett Rocket!

dean does your class 5 boat have a canopy? My boat is 26ft transome to nose overall a bit smaller than your avg svl

Yes it does, since it is a bat boat. It also is 22 feet long with a 48" beam. About 3000 lbs with a stock small block. Problably better suited for Class 6, but I enjoy racing and only winning when everything works perfectly. To me it is no fun when you know all you need to do is finish and u will be on the podium.

I can go for a boat ride and buy a big trophy for less money, I want to race!

Thats where you be mistaken. The V lites will not out turn or accelerate better than the bigger twin engine conventional Vees. Trust me. I know his boat, Ive raced it.
