Formula Returns to Offshore
In 1962, Don Aronow had a vision; create and manufacture the premier performance boat. His first endeavor became known as Formula Powerboats and he built the 233 Deep-V which later earned notable victories in the national offshore racing circuit. While Don had moved on to grow and sell several high performance companies, the Formula tradition continues on with his original vision. The Porter family has kept the legend alive by continuing to strive for performance perfection, something that Don would be proud of today. In addition to the current Fas3tech line of boats, Formula also offers Bowriders, Sun Sports, Super Sports, Cruisers, and Yachts to meet the needs and desires of every boating enthusiast.
Ted Porter, vice president of Formula Powerboats, is proud to announce the formation of a new team to compete on the Offshore Powerboat Association Series presented by GEICO. After consulting with Ray Pusillo of ‘Affiliated Resources’ a powerboat racing promotions and sponsorship agency, the concept of getting Formula Boats back in the mix was conceived, Ray proposed that TnT Racing, is the best candidate for the new alliance. This new team, named “Formulaboats.com”, will utilize the 382 Formula Fas3tech, which has several national and world titles on its resume. Tabbed to be in the cockpit are Scott O’Connor of Bradenton, FL and Trent Weyant of Palm Coast, FL. both from TnT Racing. In addition to the resume of the 382 Formula Fas3tech, Scott and Trent bring several national and world titles to the team as well as achieving the first ever Triple Crown, obtained by winning the Florida, National, and World Championship in the same season. Ted, also the president of Precision Performance Engineering (PPE), is joining forces with Trent Weyant and TnT Racing, adding the offshore team to compliment his highly successful U-5 and U-7 H1 Unlimited Hydroplane teams. Highlights include winning the 2006 ABRA National High Points Championship and the 2009 Oryx Cup UIM World Championship. Everyone involved is looking forward to showcasing the Fas3tech technology as well as continue the winning tradition and add to the legacy of Formula Powerboats. For more information about Formula Powerboats go to www.Formulaboats.com . You can also follow the "Formulaboats.com" Offshore Race Team at www.tntoffshore.com and the H1 Unlimited “Formulaboats.com” team at www.u5racing.com |

They are certainly known for a great looking, handling family performance boat with lots of room in the cockpit, cabin and for comfort. |
Congrats Trent,
I know you worked your azz off for this. Gimme a call, you know I'll help any way I can(at least in Florida). |
Good luck with this new endevor! If you are in need of a good throttleman, let me know, I'd be proud to wear the Formula colors!
Dave |
Congrats!!

Raced for Formula back in 2000 the Porter family are top notch. The 38' fast tech may not be the fastest in the flat but will be hard to beat in big water. Congradulation to TNT. Welcome back Mr Porter. Jo

Could someone tell me why Formula did not contact any of the f2 teams that suported Formula and raced all over the country and paid over $200.000 for these boats! Teams like Total Marine F2 32, Moral Hazard F2 42, and others that still have there raceboats. Even Treadwell Motorsports 2000 World & National Champion with Eric Treadwell and Jack Stoerlle ( RIP Jack we all miss you). I was in ocean city and saw the new team in action and was disapointed. I am sure these are good racers and just need some time to get it together but when you are being sponsor by one of the best boatbuilders in the country you need to have it all together before showing up. I am sure Scott Porter would appreciate that. Howard Richardson F2 19

Howard i was thinking the same thing when i talked to Formula they blew me off.

Respectfully, now I am the bad guy??? I am so sorry that next time when my phone rings I wont pick it up and listen to the opportunities presented to me. I am sorry you feel that way. I wish you only the best in your racing this year!! Trent |

Sorry for so few images of the Offshore boat. I heard it was on its way and Trent made good on his promise to be there .
I had left the Pits around 7PM and I don't remember seeing it arrive yet, but the boat was there 1st thing Sunday morning. The very least I could do for Trent was to proudly display his new sponsor for him. Even if it was the Hydroplane. I have been in the sport long enough to know the difference. How Trent landed the sponsorship I don't care. The important thing is that he landed it and here we have Formula now being represented. That is huge ! Sponsors may look beyond those "previous racers that bleed the brand" for someone else that may better represent their company. 1st and foremost is always presentation. If you have that, all else will fall inline. Something tells me that Formula feels Trent will represent them well. Congrats again Trent on your sponsorship. The display itself in the pits was great. No one could miss the fact that FORMULA was there !!! Hope you find whatever gremlin bit you in OC. I'll see you in Sunny Isles, Fl next weekend and get more shots of you and your boat. Good luck ! http://sharkeyimages.zenfolio.com/im...46399193-4.jpg http://sharkeyimages.zenfolio.com/im...41983735-3.jpg http://sharkeyimages.zenfolio.com/im...87729364-3.jpg |

What is it with these forums lately ? Everyone was begging for Sponsors and now a few are here and people want to do nothing but bash them ? Last week people talkin about Geico this week it is now Formula ... What the hell ? |
You know DD, I love how you send me a congrats letter and I was impressed with the sincerity but honestly I know what your all about and dont want to give you the impressions that I like you, cause you are the worst representation of offshore racing in, well ever. Then you come on here and bash me publicly and the team trying to stake claim of something that you had nothing to do with. You keep telling yourself that you had anything to do with this new endeavor, while your at it, please keep posting the blatant lies that I have the documented emails that show otherwise.
For the record, I am not a great racer and never professed to be, I have a passion and love for this sport and will continue to do my best to promote and help it get to the next level. You said you were done, then go away, your 15 minutes are up, I really would love to meet someone on the circuit that actually likes you, some friends you think you have:grinser010: |
Thank you for your kind words Tim! The bugs are gone and we have logged about 6 hours a day in test time since Weds. Should be a great race in SIB, cya there

He states R.P. screwed him over and then was kind enough to tell R.P. to call you... Glad it worked out for you ! :drink: |
DD,
I spoke my peace, you are not worth the time nor trouble. Call me a liar, heck call me Shirley for all I care, I know the truth as do you, but far be it for you to accept responsibility and put the time line in the correct order and not customize it to try and make yourself the victim. Your always the victim and the great things that are taking place in offshore are all because of you. Congrats!!! Oh and please dont see me in SIB, I have nothing to say to you. Go play with your other "so-called" friends |
Congrats On Your New Sponsorship! Have a great Season!
Jr. |
Congrats Trent, have a great season! Will we see you in Sarasota this year?

Trent, this statement here shows you how good a friend DD was trying to be.
He states R.P. screwed him over and then was kind enough to tell R.P. to call you... Glad it worked out for you ! :drink: Ray wanted to find sponsorship for many teams,,,i called Dee Early, Trent and others to let them know and formed contact for them. So the screwing part is not what i was refering to. But not even a thank u Scott and all i get to hear is bash talk....WTF ! I realy don't care, but Trent always makes it look like he did it all. With out help from others he would not even know how a boat looks like !!! :lolhit: have a great weekend u all ! |

Tim, i gave Trent the # before Ray screwed me !!!!!
You initially posted it was AFTER R.P. screwed you. Now you say it was before ??? Either way, it doesn't matter. Trent obviously worked hard to get this sponsorship. I am sure it took a lot more then just one phone call. But hey, if you gave him the phone #, that's just fantastic !!! Great job Scott !!! I am sure the entire offshore community appreciates it !!! I know I already am happy to see Formula back on the scene..... :drink: |

I think if any racer wants Sponosrship, they have to go after it. They have to be persistant and have a plan.

Trent you have me all wrong! I am just perplexed why porters skipped over guys that still own theses factory boats and would campaign with honor. I personnally bought 2 a 292 and 353 pleasure version and when I bought 29 foutain F1 I really went after the 292 F1 but could not get it out of legendary marine. I was branded from the start with my formula. Good luck with your season. And I don't agree with waiting for a sponsor to contact a previous racer if they want to get back in to the sport they can reflect on the prior years of F1 and know there are still racers there with equiptment still financed! Just my 2 cents BTW I should have kept my Corsa
