Same Boat different Course
I would like to announce the alliance of OPA and Pacific Offshore. We can finally welcome a real national series. POPRA racers will run the OPA Rulebook at our season opener at the Lake Havasu Grand Prix on April 8th & 9th.
After many hours of trying to align offshore rules on our previous course, decisions were final but changes were made. The published document did not reflect the racers views and votes. It’s funny how a few can change the work of many and not for the better. Brad Johnson President, Pacific Offshore |
Not surprised, you had issues there Brad. Welcome to all the westies. Are we looking at a year end shootout? Smitty

Nice! See ya in Orange Beach....!

Does that mean we have to cut off the sleeves on our race shirts??

Great move to further the unification progress!

I'm looking forward to getting the Stuggots trophy over to the West coast for a while......:coolcowboy: Is that for the season or the worlds?
I don't surf... lost my hair along time ago. Team In The Red pulls the bottom of the shirt thru the neck is that alright??? Its the land of fruits nuts and flakes out here.. pat W:drink: Would be cool to go to Orange Beach again.:evilb: |

Have a safe race this weekend in Havasu and send over your points after the race so we can keep track of who's in the lead for the Cup!
|
The tattoo will say 2012 Stuggots Champion....I will work on a new project to come hunt down that trophy next year.
This year we will be lucky to make the first race. Second engine went in last nite. Should be testing Thursday.... cutting it close do we get points for effort??? The slimey rat basterd and I are no longer on speaking terms. He lit the bridge he was on to see the next one. I work on the one strike policy. pat W |
Nicely done! Let's keep this moving forward, no more backsteps.
|
We look forward to a long & fruitful venture with everyone. We feel this is a step in the right direction. A small step, but a step forward none the less. Let’s keep the momentum going with the support Offshore Racing needs to grow to a new level. We have worked hard to reach the point of uniting the rules & thank Smitty for his blessings in doing so. We will see you in Orange Beach (for sure) if not before then!!!

Hey Nancy, you can remind everyone that your old west coast boat won the worlds in Orange Beach last year.Imagine if you bring the new one.
|
Oh we are looking forward to it! Hopefully it won't be the only time you'll see the Pig Iron Race team in East/Southern Coastal waters. The Extreme loves the waters of Orange Beach. I'm going to do my best to bring out other West coast teams to show them how great it is to race with some of the best Offshore racers I know; also looking forward to meeting new teams.
BTW-I told you that was an awesome boat!! Dave Hemmingson (DCB) & Brad built a bomber boat. |

Water like this is great for Landscape pictures, but kills the sales of Offshore Racing Photos .... :( Ned from H2O Mag had the best year there several years back. Amazing shots came from Orange Beach. Looking forward to see everyone and meeting the Left Coasties ! :drink: Great work BRAD !!! Have a great race in Havasu ! http://sharkeyimages.zenfolio.com/im...07175361-4.jpg |

I dont know Ned's OSO name but it would be great if he posts pictures to make us think back of how much fun to race at orange beach with huge waves! Chris |
Sorry Chris,
I do not have his images. I regret everyday not accepting the offer to go there that year to shoot. :( The water was insanely huge ! |
