Ok, I spoke with Gary and we have some things in the works.. The Traffic Light adult entertainment club(sponsor) will have a couple of there girls tow the boat down for us. Gary and I will fly in Friday.

problem.. the girls will arrive Thursday and we will need some OPA member to volunteer to look after them and show them a good time.. you know, make them feel welcome.

Here is an 80 thousand dollar deal, and you guys cant even register. Allan spent two weeks getting all your paperwork mailed to you, Ron and I spent four months putting that deal together, Total lack of respect. If you want the sport to grow, do more than expect.

Smitty you have a very valid point! I do apologize for being one of the guilty parties.I'll blame it on the economy like everyone else.We weren't sure we were going to be able to even race this year.It looks like we will make it to Sunny Isles.I will get my registration in on monday.

Finally, someone that gets it. Well said Mark

I would love to volunteer my time, after all I trust me so you should to....I will be well behaved. I will take the girls to a knitting class, volunteer at a few Senior communities, and of course we all will go to church.....like I said I trust me so you can too....:cool-smiley-011:

We all need to work together to continue to improve OPA.I know that I am willing to help in any way that I can.

Well said, Mark

My personal opinion here, but if any teams have questions about anything official regarding OPA they should contact Smitty directly through e mail/phone/PM etc...

All this forum stuff is great, but we should keep the official stuff (such as payout complaints) private. It does nothing to further our sport by bickering in public. Every team at one point has had an issue with something OPA has done, we are all indviduals with different opinions, but the bottom line is OPA is here for all of us. It is our organization. Taking Smitty or anyone else in OPA to task for a decision or action and then posting it on the internet is not constructive criticism.

In the professional motorsport organizations I have been involved in (Grand-AM, IMSA) the teams know the organizations are there to promote the series. The better the series, the better it is for all the teams. They may not like all the decisions, but they accept that the organizations motives are for the betterment of everyone.

I can debate this topic with you and others all day. But I wont do it on the public forum.

The gallery is not silent. Just holding its tongue

heater63 05-15-2011 03:11 PM

Bruce, are you turning over a new leaf? holding your tongue?lol

F1-00 Racing 05-15-2011 03:14 PM

Guys,

Whats to debate???? When was there ever a "payout complaint"? Holy cow, I just wasted 10 minutes of my life re-reading this thread to make sure there wasnt something I missed.

I apologize and maybe I need to crawl back into my bilge, but I never would have thought that being asked for a choice, me asking for complete info to make an informed decision, originally getting a smoke and mirrors answer, then finally getting a concise one was debating or complaining. wow

I am officially stupider now.....

As I said in a previous post, I'm just glad that the purse isnt a million and the travel money isnt just 10 bucks, but then again Smitty would end up being the bad guy no matter what from the guys that answered "tow money" and it was their fault for not asking for complete information..

Thanks guys, sorry for trying to look out for you and your teams, go ahead and get your pom poms back out, I'll head back to the bilge. :asskiss:

BRUCE SEROFF 05-15-2011 03:24 PM

Tow money is great...thank you OPA.... great job!

sbracing 05-15-2011 03:40 PM

My intention is not to debate, but to make a comment that
I make it a point to contact Mr. Smith directly when I have a question about OPA operational stuff.

Pwrbt33 05-15-2011 06:07 PM

Im not debating either just making my statement like a few others. We didnt register right away due to our boat isnt even done from the builder yet and we dont know if we will even be in the points race after getting the boat done. We are hoping like hell to be in SI. Second the sponsors we have talked with want more for their buck than just a name on everything we own. Last but not least, the money would help us get to a race site beings we race because we love it!!! Not because we're well off and can afford it! So any help in getting us to a race sight is VERY VERY much appreciated!!!!!!

Also we appreciate EVERYONE for all there hard work on helping get these races up and running!!

Thanks!!

Last year Sunny Isles pd 35K, I added 10k to the purse, because the SVL's and the SS wanted to come. Paid purse 45k
This year Sunny Isles has 35k , and I will add the money for the SS class. Ryan Beckley got in touch, and we told him we would pay the class. Havn't heard a word from the SVL's so the rest goes to the 7 OPA classes. 35 divided by 7 is 5k a class.
Not all classes have to take the purse the same way. Some can do purse some can do travel. Money will be pd in Sunny Isles. Smitty

So....what did everybody decide to do? Tow money or purse?

Were they paid at the site?

Wazzup Racing 06-25-2011 11:25 AM

Class 6 took Tow. The rest was paid 1st 2nd 3rd Place.
Purse was collected at the site and paid out on Monday.
