AMSOIL Partners with Offshore Powerboat Association

Three-year agreement gives AMSOIL title sponsorship of series

For Immediate Release (June 8, 2011)
(Superior, Wis.) ~ AMSOIL INC., The First in Synthetics, continues its support of powerboat racing as the new title sponsor of the Offshore Powerboat Association. The sponsorship agreement offers naming rights to the OPA, which will now be known as the AMSOIL Offshore Powerboat Series sanctioned by OPA.

“We are thrilled to have AMSOIL come aboard as the title sponsor of the OPA,” said OPA President Ed Smith. “Their commitment to offshore racing through the sponsorships of several high profile teams over the past few years has been exceptional. Their involvement will help the OPA expand its coverage and improve its race events starting in Sunny Isles, Fla.”

Along with the title sponsorship of the series, AMSOIL will work hand-in-hand with the promotion of offshore racing and will help develop a new reality-based television production that will air on Versus in late 2011.

“The OPA is a great fit for AMSOIL and its strengths in the marine market,” said AMSOIL Race Program Jeremy Meyer. “Along with exciting racing, the OPA offers up a colorful cast of racers who will be highlighted in the new Versus show, and both race fans and the casual observer will be hooked on the high-end production.”

The 2011 AMSOIL Offshore Powerboat Series begins in Sunny Isles Beach, Fla. June 18-19. For more information visit www.oparacing.org or www.amsoilracing.com.

Ron,

Nice work. Most importantly Thank you,Smitty, and Amsoil!!!!!

Just a little FYI though, with the April merger of Comcast and NBC Universal, after July the "Versus" channel will be known as "NBC Sports" so the series will be aired on "NBC Sports". The Versus website is already forwarded to "NBC Sports on MSNBC"

Dont know if this affects your press releases, just wanted to give you the heads up

It’s been a long winter and while you’ve been working on your boats, OPA has been working on new race sites, new series sponsors and a TV show package that will feature the best of OPA Racing and its teams.

We are thrilled and extremely proud to have AMSOIL come aboard as the title sponsor of the 2011 OPA Racing series for the next three years. We are also pleased to announce that OPTIMA Batteries, Geico Powersports and Wazzup Racing Engines are presenting sponsors of this year’s racing series. With the sponsorship dollars that this brought into OPA, we have contracted with Long Haul Productions to develop a reality based TV show, a sample of their work can be seen at this link. http://www.amsoilracing.com/Media/ACSStv.aspx You’ll notice that the way they shoot the show makes it a reality based show, centered on the racers and will allow the audience to get to know who you are. It is not a flag to flag race show like we are accustomed to seeing, so this should be very entertaining to develop and watch. They will be using 4 cameras and 15 onboard Go-Pro cameras to capture all of the action, before, during and after the race. This is a high quality production that will raise the bar considerably.

We are also working with Versus network to air the shows. The shows will be one hour long and air on Versus Network starting on Friday November 11th and airing each Friday at 4pm through December 16th. We will be airing five of our seven race series. If more sponsorship money comes in, we will add a sixth show. Commercials on the show are available at very reasonable prices that your sponsors might want to take advantage of. Contact Ron Polli at 732 330 7239 if you want to discuss the commercials or have questions about the show.

FREE OPTIMA BATTERIES IN SUNNY ISLES BEACH for all OPA registered teams

When you arrive in the dry pits located in Gulfstream Park www.gulfstreampark.com you’ll notice the big OPTIMA Rig on display. In that truck will be 60 batteries. They will be given out for free to the OPA teams on a first come, first served basis. Once you register, you’ll be given paperwork to pick up your battery(s). We know that we won’t have enough for everyone so if you register late, batteries will be shipped to your home after the race.

If you are fortunate enough to receive your battery(s) in Sunny Isles Beach, please install them before the race if at all possible. They will be required to be installed after this race.
The Racer Packet is on its way to you right now. So stay tuned to your email box.

With the opening race in Sunny Isles Beach Fl just weeks away, everyone is excited to see months of hard work come together and make this the best year of racing yet for the new AMSOIL Offshore Powerboat Series sanctioned by OPA.

All the info you need for this race site can be found at www.offshoreevents.net

See ya in Sunny Florida!
