Orange Beach SVL
Trying to get a handel on who wants to race there SVL in Orange Beach for the OPA Worlds? Looks like a $1000 tow package and no entry fee's unless you havent raced with them yet this year. Typhoon is in. I would think Octane,Pirates,Time Bandit,Wild Card are strong possabilitys. What about the rest of you SVL guy's?

Cool Randy look forward to it!!!! A few guys approached me about a starting a spec class with the open boats and I am curious if OPA's Dyno and sealing process is as painless as it used to be back when we ran F1.
"All engines, at the beginning of each season or after a rebuild or after the purchase of a brand new Mercury Racing 525s will be run on single OPA specified dyno and must make Horsepower and torque within 3% of the Mercury Baseline. Roughly 550 HP. OPA will also drill a ½ inch hole in the top of the bell housing to allow inspection of the flywheel at race sites. OPA will seal motor after Dyno Run and will use other methods to insure compliance to the rules" |
I think it's great all the SVL's are supporting the OPA after all the work they did in the off season to get you guys racing.

Last I heard OPA and the Gulf Coast producers were looking for boats to race in Orange Beach. If something has changed and the SVL guy's are not welcome please let us know. Its real easy to stay home if people dont feel welcome. Thanks for starting $hit.

One of my all time favorite video's was of the SVL's racing at Orange Beach. The camera work was excellent and watching that start of the race with the helicopters following and the tight race action. It was just AWESOME.

Bring it Randy. Take Doug's money!!!. Lets put on a show for these good folks in Orange Beach that really roll out the red carpet and are incredibly supportive of Offshore Racing.
Please make every effort to attend. You won't regret making the trip. Plus Orange Beach will end up being turned into two TV shows since NY got hurricaned out. |
If Randy could pull in 8 SVLs that could be a rebirth for that class and create interest in your boats again. Good luck and I hope you can pull it off.
