Just a rule of thumb take you paycheck max out your credit cards and look in to a home equity loan that should about cover it. And dont count on to many people to help you out money wise. allot of people will tell you they have sponsors lined up and the check is in the mail. Every one want to race but no one wants to pay!!!! Some of us have been very lucky with people on our teams who can do allot of the hard work and pay to repair what breaks, This works out very well if you find a person that you can trust. I was very lucky this year having 1 of those guys. Without him there is NO WAY in hell I could have raced this year period. for that reason he was able to take the boat to some of the races I could not make and he fixed anything he broke, We even came away with our first CHECKERD flag this year. So my point is it's going to coast you way more then you will ever plan on or can afford to spend but you wont regret 1 second of it.
PS Thanks to Rob Matt and li'l DOUG

I just want to race at least one season and im trying to figure out if ive got cash to finish the boat and run the `12 season or wait for the kitty to re fill and try to race `13

I know promises are made but cash never shows .
I used to race mx so I know the drill.

Hell maybe ill buy another van and live out of it like the good ol dirtbike days.

Hey Bud, Smitty here. New teams are always encouraged to join in. These guys are spot on, take into account the fun factor, worth every penny. Class 6 is really cool. I had a chance to run with those guys this year, great bunch. Tell you what. If it will help you get going, Wazzup Racing, not OPA, will cover your travel fuel for your entire Rookie season. Smitty

While we are on the subject....

Class 6 teams, here is a proposal for tow money.

Divide the class 6 purse by # of boats at a race +1.
(six boats at a race divide purse by seven)
each boat gets a share as tow money, winner gets the extra share.

VERY nice Gesture Smitty/Wazzup engines!!
I would agree with Rich and support a "tow money-1st place" pay out package.
