the art of trim and throttle control

Does anyone know of some books that could help me understand trim and throttle control in a high performance boat? I have been driving boats my whole life and now me and a friend are talking of putting a boat together for racing. Any help would be great.
Thanks

Trim it up, and hold it wide open. Oh and make friends with Jim Black!

Only kidding, It actually comes naturally with time. Doesn't hurt to have someone with experience hop in with you for a bit. Balance in the boat is the key, a well balanced boat is a piece of cake to run. Get your stuff together. Be happy to help. Smitty

Hey Smitty thanks for the reply. I have alot to learn as I have never raced boats before. I have grown up around boats and have races everything from cars to motorcycles to quads, but boats are where my heart is. I do go to alot of the OPA events here in MI and do know of the Wassup racing boats. I would love to start in class 6 or 5 and end up in SVL or dream of Super Vee down the road. I know I have to start somewhere and look forward to learning all about the sport... And trust me holding it wide open isnt a problem for me

Hey guys just wanted to chime in and soak up any knowledge I can. The "friend" CheapThrill is referring to about putting a boat together is me.

Class 6 is a great place to start you need a 24 to 26 foot boat with at least 900 to 1000 HP and it's lots of fun !!!! :D
