Sponsorship for race and payouts???
 

I got a question. I see Sponsors for the World Championships are being added everyday. Do these Sponsors give $ or what?? Also, if they give $ does this mean that its shared among the classes to raise the purses or ?????????

My favorite words lately but I do NOT speak for Palm Beach Powerboat, OPA, Smitty, etc The purse is a fixed amount and the amount was mandated when the contract was signed between PBP and OPA. As we all know it is a great expense to host us into any race sight. So the direct answer to your question is no, the purse has already been determined, thankfully the PBP staff has been able to acquire these sponsors so we can have the privilege of racing another race.

Smitty requested a list on another thread of who is coming in 5 and 6 so I guess we had better get it to him ASAP so we can get a definitive answer of what the purse/tow money breakdown is, sooner than later

Crazy question but will the boats that havent raced with OPA this year get tow money?
I understand they do not have to pay the reg fees if they are already reg with sbi

wish SBI would honor it the other way....would love to race Key West, but not for the money they want for a single race!!!

Guy's, call Smitty with your questions or e-mail him, he is the only person who can give you the correct answers, the rest of us (including me) are only kinda guessing.

Maybe if we get enough guys from OPA to commit to it, we could ask, i mean all they can say is no. We're planning on running down there.
