Dee or someone can you post my onboard video from youtube. Its under (typhoon racing ac) Its lap 7,8 and 9 of us battling it out with Tug It. It starts with Tug It Tripping it on the back leg and almost losing it in front of us. Some good stuff. We had 1/2 a lap to go and we broke the boat. Don't know why LOL.

Nice race Randy !! doesn't seem that rough lol. I also want to add something here, a lot of people have come up to me and said you guys were all over that rev limiter......... uh duh lol going from the back of the pack to battling for the lead wasn't gonna happen running easy, we were in the hunt and who knows if we didn't break things could have been different. Boo Yaa!!

No excuses here. we pushed the equipment past its point in the end. I would do it again in the same situation. No glory for 2nd place !!!! Next time maybe we will make our move earlier. I have to say we love racing at this level with the best ( Tug It ) at this time. We have learned something every time we have hit the water. There is no grater lesson than losing !!!!

Typhoon.... How fast were you guys running? And what RPM is your rev set to? I'm curious as to how you lightweight v's guys set your rigs up? From the pier the RPM's sounded low? Maybe 5k-5500? And wheel pitch? Can help but ask as it looked like you roll around 30mph at idle! Hahaha 30p? Sorry for so many ?'s but I'd like to learn more about the racing aspects. Thanks!

Its hard to tell speed and RPM for me in the boat. I rarely ever look at gauges in those water conditions. I try to get the boat set up with ballast, tab and trim as soon as possible and then make small adjustments in every lap. I look at the trim and tab indicator the most and remember the settings that work best at different locations on the course. Speed and RPM don't mean anything if the boat is out of control. The problem is you have already committed to RPM/speed with what ever pitch prop you put on. We know we cant get max potential speed in the ocean so we try to put on a prop that will keep us at the 5450 RPM limiter when the boat is tucked in and possibly some tab.
The AC race was est at the docks to be 2-3 chop for the first race. We opted for a 29 pitch 5 blade that should run max 85 MPH. When I looked at RPM in the race we were max at 5200 RPM and max high 70 MPH. What this means is we missed the set up for max performance. The water was bigger than we expected and we were over propped. A 28 pitch was the right set up for that day in that water. I hope this help and Im not babbling
