Default Looking for good lodging for Cocoa Beach

Anyone have any recomendations on where to stay for the Cocoa races? I’ve never been before. Is it better to be where the wet pits are and the block party or stay down on the beach near the racing? Thanks.

We used to stay at the Laquinta on Cocoa Beach, mainland side, not beach side, all the time.
Affordable, clean, pool, bar, decent breakfast etc.
Also allowed dogs which was what we we were after.

Maybe 2 miles from the pits.
We took our mountain bikes and rode
to the Port/pits.
We lived a 1/2 hr from there and was our favorite weekend getaway.

No worries.

We love it there.
If you walk across the street from the LQ, it will take you a beach front pub w/live music and way cool 2nd floor deck view.

We were there a couple days ago.
Used to go up to watch the cruise ships leave.
Sat/Sun 3 ships follow each other out, past the tiki bars to the Atlantic.

Owners of that LQ have a VERY rare, 30’ west coast....., Nordic or Schida Maybe??
Was just finishing a restoration last I saw it.

Enjoy!

Excellent, good to know. I’m really looking forward to going. Looks like I’ll be able to do Cocoa and Pt.Pleasant
this year.

JJ’s boat is a Schida, was on the new year day run. Cool boat and runs hard.

My Buddy also just got done remodeling the upstairs bar at the hotel. Not sure about this year as it’s not SBI but the downstairs bar always hosted a party for the racers on Saturday night before the races.
