The Camden Race Is A Go!!!
 

Kurt just received the permit from the Coast Guard to run a race in Camden NJ next Sunday.

We anticipate a great event with boats from OPA, Great Lakes Silver Series and OSS at this race site.

Just called Little Cesar and The OPA-Silver Cup Series/OSS National Championship Race is "ON" for next weekend. A Lot of Bull $hit happened in Cambridge last week, It's OLD, DONE and FORGOTTON... So who's gonna come PLAY with The Jersey Boyz??????????????????????You all know they are gonna let me DRIVE The Battleship Jersey...one way or another. Team Nesquik, Kevin and Augie are "IN". Who else?

Party the night before will be on the Battleship NJ and the racer briefings will be held in the war room inside the ship.

The dry pits are all fenced in an security will by high on and off the water. Viewing will be good from either Philly or Camden but the boats will be running on the Camden side.

Think we can get enough people on the side of the Battleship watching the race to make her list a little? That would make for a great photo.

Saturday will be registration, and possibly testing.

Sunday the races will start at noon or 1pm.

An exact Schedule should be finished by Monday.

Oh, in that case, testing would be in the afternoon (usually from 2 to 4pm) on Saturday and you'll need to be on location about 30 minutes before the race starts on Sunday.

A number of OSS teams will support Camden on a friendly basis. Just like we did in Algonac. Looks like all of the Nutz will be there, that's fer sure. And some of the bigger boats also.

THIS IS NOT THE OSS CHAMPIONSHIP. Some OSS boats MAY show up. The final OSS NATIONAL race points will be awarded for the first days racing in Key West.

$250 to register w/out a purse.
I would like to give one last shot at promoting this class for the Camden race...

I am just trying to get the facts. I don't want to tell a guy it's $250 and have him show up and it's $500. :eek: :eek:
There were some stragglers that said they would make Camden. Perhaps Ocean Outboard may have time to get their boats ready as well?
I will give it my all to try to get you guys the boats! I would just love to see some outboards back out there racing!

I understand... It would be nice to see a fleet of SOBs finish the season. Maybe it will give others the motivation to come out next year.

Smitty still has Mark's 22 Velocity sitting in front of his shop. Just need to bolt on a Merc... :drink: The SOB never showed up in Md. as promised... I was dying to see Augie in an SOB! The picture would have been PRICELESS! :D

Sharkey, talk to the SOB, see who's coming even if it was free. Once you have a group that will actually show up, then there's something to discuss. The would make a good warm up race for the main events.

No. I don't have many of their phone numbers. I do everything through the Internet.
I got a message out to Flannigan of Brick who has a 21' Shadow/2.5 Merc, and I need to contact Pro Marine, there is at least 2 or 3 more possiblities there. And if I can get Smitty or someone to get a Merc on Mark Henderson's 22 Velocity, he will loan his boat out...
Perhaps now that the boat show is over in CT, Ocean Outboard will show with their 2 or 3 boats...
I have ruled out anything coming from East Coast Marine. They don't seem to want to leave the Island... :rolleyes:

Even if you got 8 boats, it would be a neat warm up race, even if it was only 5 or 8 laps.

This is thier last shot to be taken seriously. But they can always run in P5 and as we saw in Cambridge, they can easily hold thier own in the calmer waters.
