Soft cabin door
I heard that some OL had soft cabin doors. I am looking for pictures if anyone has one.
Thanks Jon |

Re: Soft cabin door
My boat has them but it's in storage so I can't take any pictures till spring. They work ok...you don't need to worry about them rattling.

Re: Soft cabin door
Thanks Tazz. Does it snap on the outside or sides of the opening?

Re: Soft cabin door
No snaps, just zippers.

Re: Soft cabin door
Ok thanks. I hope to be able to take a rip down to the factory some time before I figure this all out. I guess it does not matter that it be super water tight because that is what the cover is for?

Re: Soft cabin door
No rattles. no knobs and latches to open or fall apart in rough water.

I have not seen zippered doors. The door is plastic wrapped in vinyl that slides thru a track that is mounted to boat on each side of the door. The door slides up behind the headliner and is guided by custom tracks. This system works fantastic but it would be very difficult to design the track system in a retrofit. The OL tracks are made on a CNC to their specs. I made a similiar door with our router table for a home theater application wrapped in acoustical fabric to hide equipment but most boats have issues that create inconsistant mounting anomanies. If everything on your boat is similiar to left and right side of door, you should be able to make it happen.

I may have missunderstood the question, the zippered doors are on the door to the head and storage compartments, the cabin door is sliding door like Andy Buzz stated.
