The latest is...........
This boat is to be outfitted with a single RR Allison 601, capable of producing 7918Kw of power. For you lay-people that equates to about 10618.211 HP.
Drives will be of a confidential configuration, the major drive manufacturers are still in a R&D phase and the winning design will be implemented as soon as the designs are approved and tested through a VSS (vessel simulation scenario).
The boat will require substantial hull changes but not so significant that other current models cannot be modified to accomodate the new engine and drive system(s).

The boat is for sale, without power. It ran over 162mph with Merc 1200SCI's. There were motor issues in the beginning, but in the end, with Mercury power, it ran very well. Even those motors had a electrical problem, but it was fixed (merc racing problem). If I had the money, I would buy it in a heartbeat, but I need another 20 years to save up! 50', 1200hp, 162mph+ is very good.
