Hey Larry,

We plan to raise the back of the hatch a few inches and leave the front as is so the hatch will still meet the back seats correctly. If that's not enough, we will then install some inserts to make up the rest. I definitely don't want scoops, or should I say, the wife does not want scoops......

WOW lookin good keep us posted, want to here #'s & some cabin pics when done, mines in the same shape right now, in a million pieces, hopefully get the motors on the dyno this week, summer's coming up quick. PS i have a set of scoop's if anyone need's them.

I'm running roughly 875 hp through BMax drives on my 36' Apache. It's a little heavier than your boat but the drives have been really good to me.

I would call Outerlimts and as them what they think about running the -4 on that hull. Its looking good.

After Eddie gets some "X" measurements, he is going to call them. We also need to know for certain about the need for boxes. I'm assuming that because darn near every Stiletto out there has them that I will be adding them, but not going to spend the money if I don't need to.

BTW, you're going to love the 37, IMO it's a great balance regarding comfort, amenities, portability, ride, speed, and size. The boat is easy to tow and store, yet very roomy compared to most other 37-39' boats. Sure there are faster boats out there these days, but it's amazing how well the Stiletto still stacks up for a boat that came out in what, 1994?

I cant agree more. If I were to buy a new boat today I honestly cant tell you what it would be.

With that said since they haven't made this model in a long time, plus all the changes OL has made over the years regarding the design of their other models, I kind of wonder how they would set up the drives on this hull if they were to do it again today.

Thanks for the comments, I know it will be tight. If I remember correctly, my motors are roughly 6" taller than the 650's that Larry had in the boat, so I'm hoping we can make that up with what I mentioned above.

I couldn't agree more with what you say about the Stiletto! I looked at a bunch of different boats and for comfort, speed, cabin, size, quality etc., you can't beat the 37 OL. I guess that's why so many of them are still out there and a lot of them getting redone.

For me it would likely be a SV43, if I could ever get myself to part with that kind of coin for a boat. Even I could (and I wont), I might still want more of a cabin. I have to say the 39 Rocket looks REALLY tempting to me... I think it's about the closest thing there is to a modern day Stiletto, all the comforts, but more modern styling, and even faster... all without the pie in the sky prices.
