42 Legacy
Hi guys, toying with the idea of getting a 42 Legacy. Are there certain years that were better than others, or was there a design change at some point? Looking at 2004 - 2010
Thanks |
Have an '06 legacy, epoxy layup, with 1075s. Going another direction. Very low hours, and ready to go. Feel free to pm me.
Thanks, Ben |
Call Dan at the factory. I think he'll be happy to shed some light on the 42's. I do know Mike changed the bottom in 08.

No design change but there may be some earlier models that are vinyl ester boats not epoxy. IMHO I don't think you can go wrong with either. Great boats

Whats your email address?

I just wanted to say "Slowride-388" was nice enough to send me some pics and info of his 42 and its one DAMN nice boat. I have nothing to do with the sale, or personal attachment to the boat, just wanted to let you know, if your looking for a nice, fast 42 its DEFINATELY worth a look.
Good Luck! Michael |

Nice pics Ben. All the hardware looks great! Good luck selling, that boat is a great pckg and as typical Onken boats go appears to be in perfect condition. You guys should venture to Chicago sometime. Two or three 42's are usually at the beach every weekend.

Any reason you don't want a 2003? I see two are listed and look to be good deals.

Epoxy layup I was assuming. Started in 2004. Maybe wrong though

What kind of speeds would you see with say a 42 epoxy with 700's verses a vinylester layup with 700's? How much weight is actually saved? Do you guys use aluminum fuel tanks? Seriously thinking ahout going from Cat, back to V....and 42OL is my first choice....
Thanks |
