Any more pics or video of this boat. I love to see older OL's with new paint.

thunderusone 12-12-2014 11:34 AM

That's Let's Rock's previous ride.

baja27 12-12-2014 07:40 PM

That was my buddies boat before he sold it to Donnie, it's a nice boat!

drpete3 12-13-2014 08:47 AM

Never saw this boat before. Its really cool, more pix pls

thunderusone 12-14-2014 11:01 AM

I've got some pics of the remake somewhere from when Dave updated "Lets Rock". They did alot of work on that boat and even faired the windscreen to make it look like a new OL. It is first class.

Donnie is a friend and a great guy and updating the boat since he bought it, it really is a nice boat...

Beautiful boat

Bostonirish 12-16-2014 09:58 PM

That was a fast boat in its heyday! Not saying it isn't now . Looks amazing

32fever 12-23-2014 06:43 PM

I gotta hand it to someone who can take such a well known, cool themed boat and redo it. It's beautiful now as well, but I don't think I could have brought myself to do it. I absolutely love the redone historical themed Apaches. And I like that I'm like that. Saves me a TON of money :)

PPlay33 12-23-2014 07:26 PM

I don't know if I could either, but after someone spent all the money on the fairing and paint work it was easy to keep going to make it as nice as I can.

SLOWRIDE-388 12-23-2014 08:51 PM

It is a bad ass boat, then and now. Very nice update...

I didn't realize the boat was part of a heroic accident,so that explains the paint, etc. Still would have been hard to change. I understand the cockpit/cabin updates and upgrades. I also really like the classic Cigs where the paint is original, but the cockpit is updated.

It's great to see what people do and the creativity in the updating. taking an older, solid, great designed hull and keeping it looking as new after 10,15,20,25 years is so neat to see. Those 37 OL are great hulls to work from.

Yours does look awesome, though.

thunderusone 12-24-2014 10:03 PM

Aren't those 900 Gellner's in there?

PPlay33 12-25-2014 10:46 AM

They were supposed to be. They were not done well at recent rebuild, so I pulled them and going thru to fix correctly.

ItsPeanut 12-26-2014 09:57 AM

Not done well by Gellner? and I actually prefer the new paint to the old paint by a lot. Looks Great. Congrats

PPlay33 12-26-2014 11:49 AM

Apparently Gellner but don't know what customer told him to do? Have to make it right anyway. Blew oil out valve covers like no rings in it.

Did the boat ever get some 5 blades on it? The right set of 5 blades will TOTALLY change that boat.

Enough 4 Play 12-28-2014 10:49 AM

Those motors originally started out as Merc 900s. Unless they have been changed they have been apart numerous times for one reason or another. Best of luck getting them rebuilt.

PPlay33 12-28-2014 08:03 PM

Previous owner tried 5 blades and said it lifted stern too much and was dangerous over 90. I will try more and probably talk to you when I get that far. The engines were 900mercs. Had a few things changed, but they would have decreased power. All in the works now to be fixed and hopefully get the performance back out of it.

That's a rake and diameter issue. Shoot me a pm when you get to that point if you are not satisfied with the 4 blades.
