I agree with that statement, but at least Outerlimits keeps improving and updating their bottoms with every passing year. Cigarette has used the same twin step hull since 2000, so there really isn't any incentive to buy a newer boat.

42X was redesigned when it came out. 39 unlimited and 50 marauder were invented all since 2000. The only boat that hasn't changed since 2000 is the 38 top gun. Not to mention all the fishing boats they have put out since then.

Youre right, my old 42X was a 2004 and I think that was the first year for the X bottom. As you stated they have released new models since then, but I would be curious how different the step placement model to model and what has actually been modified over the years.

And I will say, my 42X was a better riding boat, hands down, over any OL I’ve ever rode in. Maybe not as fast as an OL (still ran 124), but a lot softer riding boat.

I just picked up this 39 GTX from Arizona. Its been tucked away for a couple years. just got it home. BIG PFAFF power. can't wait to run it this season. can't figure out how to post the dang pic. TINYPIC is messed up
