Arnesons
Does anyone know if there are any Arneson 42 or 47 Outerlimits out there, or ever built. Does a triple Arneson application make docking alot easier, as well as getting on plane vs a stern drive application. Thanks Jeff

Re: Arnesons
How does the few that have them like them. Im trying to find pro's and con's, to a surface drive on a v, I know on a diesel application it is used more cause of weight, there has to be more benifits than that. Thanks Jeff

Re: Arnesons
MTM, thanks, thats what I was looking for. How far they stuck past the swim platform, not any further than my boxes and #5's on my Nortech. I just was trying to find out if more reliable, why isnt as much people using them in sportboats, vs cruisers. Jeff

Re: Arnesons
I think because the parts are not as accessable. And cost may be a factor as well. But then again I am not sure. I do think however that Arnesons make a lot of sence.

Re: Arnesons
What year is that OL in post #8? Looks like an early model to me and I was just curious :D

Re: Arnesons
I beleive it was a 2000 that was for sale a couple of months ago for 225,000.

Re: Arnesons
I think you are correct, around 2000' Outerlimits did a few of them with the Cat 420 engines.
We also did a four engine 47' "Four of a Kind" boat about the same time. We only used two drives though. The drives in that photo are only 42" OAL from the transom, a gas engine application will require a slighly different model and the length is about 10" longer than the inline models. The reason for Merc over anything else is simple, everyone wants Merc. Our prices are less expensive and we have less loss of HP and less weight. The reason for the Arneson's with the Diesel engines is simple, we are CHEAPER than the alternatives by a substantial margin with our inline drives. yada yada yada..... |
Re: Arnesons
What parts do you need for an Arneson. At Key West, there were so many Arnesons that Howard would be proud. Notice what boats the drives were on: Callan, Bacardi Silver, Copeland's turbine boats, Mike Fusco's Jet Set, Scorcerer(not in KW).
Jerry, I do have a cat. and docking and take off is easy for me. I know a cat. is not the same as a V hull. Mark Smith |
