39 Outerlimits Quatro
Be sure to read March 2005 Powerboat and the outstanding article they have published on this fine boat on pg. 110. It truly amazes me that it is a "brawny boat" with a deep cockpit so you get the feeling of being "in the boat". The most notable feature is that this machine runs 96mph on Mercury HP525EFI's.
As they stated "you can get a brick to run 150mph with a pair of 1,500 HP engines". This boat obviously benefits tremendously from it's Kevlar/E-glass/Epoxy resin build along with a very efficient hull. Imagine a boat with reliable Merc power that goes near a hundred miles an hour and it's a "brawny" big well appointed boat both in the cockpit and cabin. It's got my vote for offshore boat of the year. :p |
Re: 39 Outerlimits Quatro
Saw that artical...She's amazing at 96.9 for a pair of 525's.
How'd they do that? |
Re: 39 Outerlimits Quatro
The article says 95.8 GPS, but in the one picture you can see the GPS and a number on there says 98.5 I don't know if it is the speed or not, but Powerboat has had typo's before. They have supposedly gotten 100 in perfect conditions. That is just plain sick!!!! Good job Mike and OL!! :D

Re: 39 Outerlimits Quatro
I'm not sure PBM will be handing out the awards as quickly as that ...
"....The trim tabs also came in handy , keeping the 39 settled at higher speeds and in turns .... the 39 required a bit more finnesse .... both our test drivers felt it necessary to use tab input at higher speeds ...." "The 39 Quattro was not built for beginners ... owners who take the time to learn the nuances of the boat will love it .... " Guys , remember, with PBM you gotta read between the lines a little ... It's a sweet lookin rig no doubt ..... but lets not get carried away here. |

It's a big brawney boat too with a plush well appointed cabin. This is the offshore to beat for efficiency and speed |
Re: 39 Outerlimits Quatro
I'd like to publicly give a big Thanx to Mike for taking me, my wife and a couple friends out for a sea trial in the 39 last Friday morning at the Miami show. What a ride w/ the new 600's. Just skimmed over 2-4's, runs flat and smooth! Thanx again Mike, Tracy

Re: 39 Outerlimits Quatro
I also was extremely impressed with the ride of the new 39. The new epoxy hull and OL design makes this offshore boat one hard to beat!
|
Re: 39 Outerlimits Quatro
I also took a ride in a 39. Sweet ride. Thanks Pete again

Re: 39 Outerlimits Quatro
I think pbm needed more time in the boat. I saw bob russell run the boat with no tabs at wot in rough water at miami and it was as stable as a 50ft boat.

I own the referred to Quattro. It is set up perfect a lot of time & $$$ spent but 106mph is a reality. You have to know how to run the boat but it posted that w/ 1/2 tank of fuel and 2 people on both the Garmin and Livorsi GPS. Not bad for a Quattro w/ full v-berth in fresh water w/ a little tab. It would pick up 2-3mph in salt water easy. Nothing like an OL.
