Engine is in, boat is completed!!

3 Attachment(s)
Finished the install and sea trialed the boat today.

Conditions: 38 Degrees, light snow. . . Seriously!!!!

Ran great, only took it out on a small lake was hitting 65+ at mid 4000 RPMs with a 25P Mirage. I expect that the boat should be in the low - mid 70's.

Boat will be completely detailed this week and ready for showing.

It's been in storage for the winter. Just got it out 2 weeks ago. Not one person has showed up to look at it. I'm sure one of the first to actually see the boat will buy it.

It is in very good condition and there is nothing that isn't right with the boat. I just emailed 9 people who have inquired about it recently to let them know that it is ready for viewing and testing.

I'll give it a week before it goes on Boat Trader. I just don't want every knucklehead out there looking for a boat calling me. These are true offshore boats and not something that most novices should own as a first boat in my opinion. I try telling people this when they call, but they don't understand.

I'm sure it will sell it's a very good price for a great boat.

Thanks for the support and input. The 502 was definately the right choice. I think I'm asking a reasonable price for the condition the boat is in. My wife says to bump it up, and I really should. I'll let it ride for a week or two and then decide, if it goes on Boattrader.com I might bump it up to a better asking price of $ 36,900.00. There is nothing on this boat that wasn't done top notch, alot of time and $$ spent making everything right.

I even re did the hatch ram. I didn't like the force it put on the hatch mounted the other way. That is the only thing that I did not care for from the factory, everything else is top shelf!!!

Looks Good! Did you make the mounts for the tab pumps?

Elite Marine 04-30-2005 09:39 PM

Re: Engine is in, boat is completed!!

They were in the boat before I bought it. I was going to powdercoat them white, but there are backing plates on the transom that i would need to do also. I didn't want to break apart through bolts that were sealed properly so i left them aluminum.

Re: Engine is in, boat is completed!!

My pumps are mounted to the transom. Due to the transom angle they would leak. This winter I cut some angled wood blocks to put behind them. So far no leaks. I haven't had a good rough water test to see if they will hold up yet.

I can't believe you boat hasn't sold yet. Sounds like a good deal.

I just took it out of storage 3 weeks ago and installed the engine 2 weeks ago.

Not one person has come to see it yet. Many calls and emails. I'm sure the first person that sees it in person will buy it if they know anything about these boats. It's extremeley clean and ready to go at a fair price.

Right you are here K.....
I had the same situation when selling my 28.
I had countless emails and talkers...
I had a small few that actually had it in them to come look at the boat.
I turned one buyer down simply because I could tell he would abuse, and not take care of the boat... Stupid maybe, but I couldn't bear to see the boat get trashed.
One buyer gave me $500 deposit.. then couldn't get the rest of the cash.
Then another board member came along... Good guys, with enough knowledge on how to handle and take care of my baby... they're having a great time with it.

Just keep advertising it. It'll sell. It just takes someone that understands what it really is....
Very nice boat.

Try some old fashoned advertising. Put a for sale sign on it and take it to the water, or park it along a busy raod that boaters take to run to the river/lake...
