24 Sport Vs SE?
Okay, my next boat is going to be a 24' Pantera. I'm looking at a few in the classifieds and doing some negotiating and checking. Looking at older / redone boats for less $ vs. a newer super clean one for more $. I guess it's going to come down to what is the best deal.
My question is what is the difference between a Sport and an SE? I checked Pantera's website and didn't see anything. Thanks. |
Re: 24 Sport Vs SE?
Ive had both, the SE cockpit is a bit bigger and to go into and out of the cabin is a bit easier know the sport has a longer deck (which I like better) and the sides are a little taller than the SE. Both are a great riding boats for (FLA) rough waters I have been in many 24ft boats but my experience and preference has me going back to pantera there quality and support (even though I purchased preowned) has been great..

I have the sport and it is tight for room with 4 people on the boat. I do like the long deck. Jeff

Hey, Jo, I'm looking at one in So Cal now. Has a 496/425 Volvo Penta / TRS combo, all new in '04. Still looking at the others, too. Kirk's is the nicest. I'll be in one of them soon! |

Scotts Boat Does Kick AZZ!!!!
I raced it in Marathon this year. It was my first time driving Scotts Boat, and although I also have a 24 Pantera(sport outboard) I have never driven it, as soon as I brought it home, I tore it apart to be restored. My navigator(which I had met for the first time that afternoon), and I ran it for the first time on Saturday, and lost the Hydraulic steering coming through the bridge(my Fault, held it to lock, and blew a fitting). Needless to say we were both a little skeered to head out on the course with a bunch if other boats Sunday. Al Chesley(offshore Addiction) talked us into doing it, he and Gary Decousis(sp??) helped fix it up, and we went out there and had a blast, we finished fouth, but if we had more seat time, no doubt we could have done much better. I cant wait to get mine finished, and may just run it in Marathon next year :D :D Rick |
