Stereo install in the 24
3 Attachment(s)
Finally got around to installing the stereo. Took a LONG time starting from scratch but at least I know it was done right. :D
Here's some pics for ya Kirk and whoever else cares. :D First I measured and marked where the speakers would go. Then taped them off to make sure there would be no chipping of the gel coat. |

Fired it up and no blown fuses! :D
The 6.5s sounded great but the subs were weak. :( Time to make some air tight enclosures! |
Re: Stereo install in the 24

Used some camper top tape to make a tight fit and screwed the cover down.

Sounds awesome now! Had to turn the sub amp way down. :D
Added some protection to the subs and it's now complete! :evilb: |

You cut up my boat?
Looks great, nice install. I'd be careful with those amps on the floor, you can get water under that cover. Nice job Scott. |

I was a little worried about the amps on the floor but it's sealed up pretty damn tight so I think I will be ok. :D |
Re: Stereo install in the 24
Looks real good.
But definitely beware of water under that rear bench. I had my radio installed in the front bulkhead infront of the passenger, which would put the back of the radio in the cabin closet. That would have been a safer place for the amps... just my $0.02. Either way, looks like a kicking system. |

Like I said I sealed it up tight so water shouldn't be able to find it's way in there. And yes, it does kick pretty good! :D |
Re: Stereo install in the 24
Noboat looks good, if it becomes a problem you could always use some stand offs to jack it off the floor if needed

def not a good spot for the amps. i got stuck in a storm 1 day out in the ocean so i went and hid under in my cabin and when i came out there was 6 inches or more of water in the cockpit. if my amps were there they would have drowned for sure. lmao
