Where are you keeping your Danforth?

I've got a nice AL Danforth with about 6' of chain and 100' of line. I've been keeping it in the closet in the cabin but it's a bit of a pain to twist it in there and takes some time to retrieve/store.

I'd like to secure it next to the engine somehow for easier quicker access- any ideas? I guess I'll go hit the west marine site to see what they have.

Get a folding box anchor, needs no chain.
I kept mine in the box under the rear bench seat.
It comes with a bag that will hold 100ft of line no problem.
Holds better than danforth.

If I had no anchor the box would be my choice, seen them in action. for the time being replacing my anchor will be plan b- still would not want something "loose" in the boat.

Thanks,
Ken

I screwed a few SS eylets and then bungied it in place.

For $130 it may be an easier solution than finding a place for the danforth.
I gave away my older(1yr) anchor.
But like you said, maybe someones got a good place for it.
Look in the Powerplay forum, looks like someones got the same scenario as you.

Pepe installed an anchor holder to the left of my battery switch in the engine compartment. I keep my line separate under the front v-berth and just pull out the amount of line I need then coil it back in the well.

I have the ultra-light danforth type. Good for my boat but bad if someone ties onto me. JROMY has a box anchor and it was unbelievable with two boats on it. A bit heavy though.

Often when we tie up (2-3 times a weekend) friends are already set with their box or bigger cruiser anchors- but I've used my AL Fortress to hold 4-5 boats at a time(Including a 42'Tiger) without issue in light -medium wind, you just have to nurse it a minute or two to set it.
