Re: Morgan's 28

Hey Guy's ,

Thanks for all the compliments on the boat . I made it back to NY in about 23 hours , Miami is a long way from home !!!
I can't believe I have been gone from my computer for a week and there is 3 pages about my boat . You guy's are unbelievable , I am proud to belong to the Pantera Family .
The boat came out awesome . Jo , Pepe , and Linda gave me Six straight day's in a row of none stop work . Pepe is very dedicated to his work and did a great job keeping 3 or 4 guy's busy on my boat while also keeping 2 guy's busy doing glass work in a new 24 . Jo thanks for the extra effort on Saturday , I think you kicked off your shoe's at 8 o'clock in the morning and got in the boat and didn't get out until 6 pm when I pulled out of Miami . My 4 year old Samantha played in the cabin most of the morning while I was cleaning her up from the long ride and showing it off to some friends and family that stopped by today . I will post some pic's as soon as I get a chance .

Thank you Morgan

Congrats Morgan! Boat looks great. I know the feeling on that drive up from Miami - it is a long one. The good thing is after making that trip, you don't think twice about trailering the boat anywhere.

Re: Morgan's 28

Hey Morgan:

What prop did you run with? I'll bet it should probably be a stock 26 B1 or maybe you could try my 26 B1 labbed. I still don't get up to RPM's with the 26 labbed or even the new P5-X 23p. I'm sending the P5-X to Hydromotive for a Rec. Lab finish and having them soften the cup per their instructions. They said I should get everything I'm looking for with this adjustment. I threw the 24p B1 on and will be anxious to see if I get the top end back.

The 5 blade is awesome in the sound but I don't think you'd need it on the lake. T-Mone runs a 3 blade on Candlewood lake on his 24 and gets the most top end but attitude is much different.

Boat looks just awesome. Maybe we can get you to haul it down to the sound. Wait to see those Panteras jump in the sound. Lots of air. JROMY, T-mone and I went jumping in 4 footers with 25mph wind. I think Anthony is still up in the air and we're waiting for him to come down about now!!

We both were running around 53 and I couldn't believe the way that 24 held in there. Of course the 28 was just cruising along with minimal bang. When we got back to port and were talking, we imagined what it would be like to run from Miami to New York in a 24.

All we could come up with was "BIG BALLS PEPE!!!" :D

Later and Congrats again.

Ron

Morgan,
Congrat's! I must agree with FT 525, you'll have to get Doms take on my take off on Sunday, I think I had a hang time of 4 seconds, and he swears he could see Tongue Mountain UNDER the boat. Got to love hitting the Mohican wake at 85 MPH. Could not have landed any smoother! Thanks for bringing that stuff up with you. I'm sure you can't wait to get her wet, I had to deal with 14 days of rain, you look like you have some good weather.Let me know when your heading up.

Hey guy's , I ran my 28 today , 1st time since I got her home . Spent the afternoon with Jack Boyd , my engine builder , he rejetted my carb and got her set up so she runs perfect . I will be heading up to Lake George for the weekend , hope to catch up to some other Pantera owners .

Mike , ran the boat with Jack on wednesday with about 60 gals , we hit 78 mph at about 5500 - 5600 rpms . I ran the boat up at Lake George on friday in between rain showers , ran 72 mph with a full 140 gals 3 people two coolers . I'm real happy with the way she is running , only have 5 hours on the meter so I' still need a little time to get the feel for what she needs to get those last few mph. I think with a little more time and a real light load I might see the big 80 .

Sonny , it was good to see you again , to bad it was on the street and not the water , I'll catch you in a couple weeks .

Hey Ron , thanks for the loaner prop , sure works great !!!

Hey Morgan,

I am glad the boat is running great for you and your family. You are correct with a little more time on the boat you will be seeing 80 MPH on gps.

My pleasure. Glad to see you made it out. I got my hydromotive 23P5-X back from hydromotive . Had the propped labbed and the cup softened. Going to run later this week. The 5 blade runs awesome in the rough stuff which we get all the time in the sound.

Kill switch on at all times. Have fun!! :D

There are none better than Jack, He does all of my serious machine work and every measurement is perfect.

Re: Morgan's 28

Hey guy's ,

Ran a couple hours this afternoon , just hit 10 hours on the meter . She is running real nice , my fuel flow meter shows I have burned 50 gals since I filled her to the top ( 140 ) I figure I have about 80 or 90 gals in her know . The fuel gage on the dash just fell off the full mark . I ran in Lake Wallenpapack PA . today in real flat water , 5600 rpms right at 75 mph is the best I could get , looking forward to burning off some more fuel and getting to the Hudson river this weekend and find some bigger water . I'll get some pic's this weekend !!! Boat is rock solid and handles great !!!

Have fun

Morgan

Re: Morgan's 28

Hey Morgan:

Glad to hear you're enjoying your boat. I have a 24B1 I could lend you also, but I don't know if you'd get anymore out of it. I wonder what a stock 26B1 would do?

I'm really loving my Hydromotive P5X labbed. I've gotten a few more rpm's running at 5200 and with 140 gallons pushing around 67.6. If I ever stop going on long trips, I'd get the fuel down to around 50 gallons and should run around 70-71. The 5 blade really runs smooth in the chop and the mid-range is about 53 at 4200. Nice speed to enjoy the ride and get to look around.

FYI, I figure the fuel gauge reads 13 gallons more than you have.

I'm glad I could help out, enjoy.

Ron
