Chris been there bro many times. Did you check your timing already? make sure all your plug cables are attached, I have run before with seven cylinders. I love your set up very detailed and clean.

Good luck bro, boat looks hot just sitting on the water....

I advanced the timing to 32. It is locked. I need to replace the plugs for sure. They are the same ones that Mike had in it when I bought it from him.

Very nice! Man, I love the look of that boat and she sound's crispy!

On the upside, with big slip numbers, you're less likely to break drives! :D Good luck!

Heck, I've got a spare Bravo with the end cap on it already. I'd rather see a little speed. :D

Now that's what I like to hear! :D :D :D

Took the boat back out this evening with Matt's 24* Bravo I. I was all excited. I was really just wanting to see if I picked up the 400 rpm or so that I should have going from a 26 to a 24. I changed the plugs before taking it to the ramp. We dropped it in the water and fired it up. It didn't quite sound right... We idled out and went to take off and the thing started backfiring. We went back to the ramp and I changed the plugs back out (couldn't think of anything else that I had changed). Same thing. Put it back on the trailer and took it home.

On the way home, I remembered that I had been messing with the wires that run from the distributor to the MSD box the other day. I had pulled them back behind the blower to hold them out of my way while I worked on something else. Problem was I never did anything with it. So it was doubled up behind my blower motor. MSD forums say that the wires shouldn't be within 6 inches of any power carrying wires, so I'm sure that it being right behind the blower (with it turned on) was really confusing the ignition box. Maybe I'll get to run Matt's prop before I have to give it back to him :D

that sux. You'll find that it's something simple most likely.
I look foward to hearing about the 24 prop

Keep it as long as you need to. Since my truck got hit I won't be going to the lake for a few weeks. If I do make it, I can always use my 23p.

ran it on the trailer today after rerouting my distributor pickup wire. ran like a champ. I swapped out my 6000 rpm chip with the 3000 rpm one and blipped the throttle. Rev limiter kicked in a little early 2700-2800 rpm, but it worked. If it's kicking in 200-300 rpm early with the 3000 maybe it's kicking in 400-600 early with the 6000 (I know, wishful thinking). I guess next time out I see how it runs with the 24* Bravo and then I'll pull the chip (no limit) and see how it does. Maybe I can put my 26* back on there if a faulty rev limiter is holding me back.

Disconnect the rev limiter if there is any sign of trouble. They are prone to tripping out early.

I wonder what is up with our high slip numbers.

Maybe with the 4 blades it is more typical.

Guess I need to start another thread...

Good Luck!!

I think part of my problem when it comes to prop slip, is my lower. The drives I took off of the Profile have nose cones on them and some of the fairing material has chipped off, so I don't really have a smooth transition to the prop. That is low on the priority list. With the power I (should) have, it should be revving alot higher with the slip I'm seeing. Maybe I will have to make a trip to see the dyno this winter.

I already have. :D We were turning right and she hit us from behind at 50mph. Claimed she didn't see us, but that is a story for another thread. I don't want to hijack this one.
