Re: My 28 Turnkey?
It's on my mlist of options:
1. Re-rig my boat, sell XR Drive, Steering, HD Gimble, and freshen engine sell as carburated 450+ HP, sell M-1 Procharger and Intercooler. 2. Sell my 28 turnkey. a. Have a 2007 hull built like my current hull. b. See what the SR can do for me in the weight, strength and speed dept. My true fear is that the SR has yet to be built and/or tested. I don't know that it would be ready in 2007 and I don't feel like being the test pilot!! |
Re: My 28 Turnkey?
Another option to consider is to go with a 2007 with twin 525's. I would think that 600+ trouble free hours, closed cooling and 95 plus mph would be better than being the test pilot for thr sr and having the downtime associated with that unless it is your 2nd or 3rd boat.

Re: My 28 Turnkey?
good point Chris, The twins would definately give you the speed Kirk.

Re: My 28 Turnkey?
Kirk, if you want to go over 90 mph, then you should keep that boat for the family and build yourself a fast boat for your pleasure. I hope that your family is not inside the boat when you are at wot. I have a family as well and the only boat they ride for now is a 29 Angler. I know you have a lot of experience with the boat, however, you never know the other boats or jet skiers intentions.

Point well taken.
I only boat with the family on an inland lake and don't get on it with them in the boat. 50 - 60 only. The boat is incredibly stable at that speed. I run over most waverunners, so thats not an issue!! :D :D I'm sticking with a single. I don't boat on large water but 2-3 times a year so it would be a waste to have twins at this point. I do have a nice Four Winns Unlimited with a 320 HP EFi engine that I take my 2 year old in all the time, he likes to drive in the no wake zones. |
