24 engine hatch clearance

Anyone know what the distance from crank centerline to the engine hatch is on a 24?

Are you trying to make room for some boost , or exhaust ?
I am not exactly shure on the measurment ( I used to have the measurement off of my old 24 but wouldn't have a clue now.) I would make shure that whatever measurement you get you also know what drive & X dim. they are running because that will make a differance + or -

Good point! If I remember right my X is 17 1/2". I'm looking for a straight up measurment clearance for the carb only.

Is the motor out of the boat ? If not crawl in the engine compartment with a flashlight. Just make shure your battery is good & charged !!

If you would have just told me you wanted the boat less power, we both could have saved $$$$$$$$$$!!

Now what are you doing?

I'm still having my 468 rebuilt and selling it! 638 HP :D

I have a little somethin somethin planned! As much as I would love to have 638hp under the hatch I don't want to carry a spare drive with me! :D I'm thinking 500-520 should do the trick. And I started out trying to buy the boat without power, remember? ;)

Engine is out. I wish i would have measure before hand but I didn't think it was relivant. I'm sure I can come close with my alignment tool, straight edge and tape measure! :D

I don't think that a roots type blower will fit without hatch mods but I know that a std deck BBC with a dart intake and holley carb will fit and there is an easy way to increase clearance by 2 1/4" and keep the stock look. If you want spacers and a 3" arrestor. 520hp from the 502 mag is not too hard to do with exhaust, bigger roller, remap head work and all of that increases the height by nothing. Whipple efi should also fit easily but expenive. What are you trying to accomplish? Chris

Let's just say I need about 24-25" from centerline. ;)
