Congrats my friend!!! But why did you, the boat and wife leave the town?? I heard that the Dr Drunk crashed some bones during a ride with Lulle!? Are you coming to Gotland nxt week? Mange
|
So whats the outcome ? Is it everything you had hoped and more ?
|
Dr. Drunk is alive and kicking, though slightly crippled... :cool-smiley-011: did some time off in Halmstad this weekend, :ernaehrung004: so will be back on track in a couple af days.
Tomas towed the boat back to his hood up in the north and from what i hear it's running goooood, real good. The prop is way too small though, so just above 71 knots is the highest it's been so far in 2 ft waves, :boat: but there is a whole lot more to give on the throttle, so we are looking for a 30 prop to do some testing  |
I'm in need of a bigger prop right now, in flat water it revvs 59-60 without any efforts and 79mph... In 2ft waves I have only revved it to 56 and 81.5mph, and still PLENTY more to give...:D With a good prop I see no problems at all to get to 85-90mph (to start with).
The prop is a Bravo One 30 labbed to 29 but it's the worse imaginable, no traction at all. It revvs up a lot in sharp turns and when riding along the waves it looses traction all the time compared to a "out of the box"-Bravo. Will test some props when I'm back in town, the Pantera is at my father's summer house about 180miles from Stockholm for the moment. Will be back before friday. The fuel pressure is still dropping as last year (all new AN-10 from the fuel tank to the pump and filter and AN-8 to the carbs, no 90deg fittings, just two tubed 45's and the rest are straight, all sharp corners in the pump and filter bracket are grinded and smoothed out) but this time I'm pretty sure it's the gage (Gaffrig mech, probably about 8 years old) that is the problem, not the actual pressure. We tested two different pumps last year, one 110 and one 130 gph but with the exact same results. Where hoping we had solved that problem but still exactly the same... At the dyno we had 7.4psi of pres up to 2500rpm and in the boat it starts at 6psi and drops imediately with the rpms. Will get another gage and some hose! Had a mishap with one of the carbs flooding really bad, It was a tiny piece of aluminium that was stuck on the needle :angry-smiley-044: |
thanks guys for the ride. That boat is wicked. You guys have done a great job with the motor. Just another prop and you will see even bigger numbers of mph. Did you stay over the night at Walles place?
|
87mph at 5800rpms with the std Bravo 28 in 1-2ft waves! :D
Still had quite a bit left on the stick and could have finetuned the trim alot more, a labbed 30" would probably do it. 90+ is absolutely no biggie! |
Glad to hear you got the boat back running. A labbed 30 and you should be in the 92-94 mph range with no problem.

Well... The damn drive coupler broke a couple days ago, so the Pantera is on the trailer again. Had been cruising at 10-15mph for a while and finally got out of the no wake zones, started accelerating and got to about 30mph when it let loose! :angry-smiley-055:
Got a new coupler yesterday and will change it as soon as I'm done unpacking the stuff in the new apartment. Sounds like I have found a labbed Bravo 30 as well, nothing confirmed yet. The summer here in Stockholm really sucks, so sick of this damn rain!!! |
