Just Listed my 24

I hate to do it, But I just listed my 24 in the classified section. I have my eye on a 28. Recently moving to Lake Havasu from upstate NY allows more boating than 4 months out of the year. My 24 is a great boat with a lot of new upgrades. Working part time as a Marine mechanic has allowed me to do a lot. I do miss Lake George, was hoping to take a spin on Sonnys' 28.

How fast she go?

jharran 04-11-2007 11:14 PM

I never ran the boat WOT, the fastest I went was about 67 and still had throttle left. Speed was never may game. My 24 handled the water great, so I can only imagine what a 28 feels Like. Thanks for posting my listing.

Really nice boat.

jharran 04-12-2007 10:10 PM

Thanks for the compliments on my boat. Having it in the Northeast did not allow me to use it much. I still hate to sell it, but close in nogitiations for my new boat, and no room for two boats. I will offer someone a great deal. Again Thanks Jeff

Just what I wish I had the money to buy!

Did something happen to to the skeg?

jharran 04-15-2007 10:17 AM

I have put skeg guards on all the boats that I owned. I like the nice clean look and it also adds a little more length that helps to protect the prop.

Nice Boat,

but whats up with the P3 #???

Dude! Sweet! 04-30-2007 11:57 AM

I've seen a couple of 24s with P3 on them (the ever appreciating 1994 OB 24 in Newport for example). Did they change the class designations recently. Seems like P3 now are SVL boats.

It doesn't take away from how nice this boat is by any means!

I am not saying that, it is a very nice boat, one that I wouldnt mind owning myself, but at 67MPH, it should be in P-5, it takes a heck of a boat to run P-3(like a 41 Apache with 1100's). I painted mine with the numbers block, but I wouldnt put P3 in there, maybe P5, but instead it is just getting P-24(for pantera 24) for now, until I decide to rig it with twins and go racing.

Dude! Sweet! 04-30-2007 05:50 PM

Rick, I wasn't saying you were riding the boat down. I was agreeing with you that it seems funny that there are a number of 24 Panteras sporting P3 on the bow. I just wanted to make sure people realized that I wasn't riding this boat down. Nice boat. I was confused as to the numbring because the P3 boats I've seen all look like heavy hitters.

Sorry for the minor hijack!

OK, just a misunderstanding, not sure of the current rules, but it used to be 65 MPH average lap speed for P-5, I believe it is 72 max speed now, but still, P-3 is at least 10MPH faster, and that is under race coditions, usually in rough water, Scott had a heck of a time with his 24 in P-5, with a LOTTTT more power, I drove his 24 in a race in flat water thru the bridge in marathon, and although the speed was there, my balls werent, just saying, P-3 is a stretch for a 24. I love the look of the numbers on the side, but personally, I would change it out to something more realistic.

Rick

jharran 04-30-2007 07:16 PM

Guys,

The numbers are on the boat are for display only, this is not a race boat, and never raced. I had the numbers put on to dress up the boat. Thanks Jeff

Thats Cool,

Like I said, I like the looks of the numbers, just think it would look a little more realistc with P5, or P4, sorry for the rant, but at least we are keeping your thread at the top.:D

Rick

jharran 05-01-2007 06:31 PM

I agree, the numbers on the boat really stand out. jeff

jharran 05-06-2007 11:44 AM

New boat is here!!!! No room for 2 boats...Make me acceptable offer and you can be the new owner of a 2001 24' sport!

G Man 05-06-2007 07:38 PM

didn't sell it on E-bay?

jharran 05-06-2007 10:00 PM

No, There were alot of watchers and questions, and people wanting to trade with their boats. I hate to turn the boat over to a local boat broke. But I am in a situation where I need the room, so the boat must go. Jeff

HIMES(JAIME) 05-07-2007 12:56 AM

nice 24, but not in the4 market. so whats your new boat, is it aPantera? Himes

Dude! Sweet! 05-07-2007 12:47 PM

Jim just moved to Havasu, he probably bought a 19' Eliminator pickle fork with a funny car motor!

Just messing around Jim. By the way, you may want to check out the SCOPE site (www.scopeinfo.com) someone there may be interested or know someone who's interested. I only got one or two calls from local people when I had my 24 for sale. There's a 24 for sale in Newport that's been for sale for over a year (but its priced wrong in my opinion).

Good luck with the sale!

What make are those swim steps on the transom? Been trying to decide on how/what to do with a swim platform and like the way your's looks.

Thanks!
Jeff

jharran 05-07-2007 09:56 PM

The swim steps are from "Get Real" They are 12"X18". I had them powder coated the same as the bezels and grab handles. They look sweet on the boat and funtion great. Give me a call if you need any more info. (928)566-4046
