I've Defected

Finally got myself a new ride, so I'll just be another former Pantera owner now. My Pantera was great boat. It was just time to move up and a 36 Pantera was just way out of my range.
I did move on to another wave crushing monster though. My new ride is the '97 32 Active Thunder that was in the classifieds. http://www.offshoreonlyclassifieds.c...o16834-en.html |
Congratulations on the new ride , It looks really nice & alot of boat for the $$. I'm sure you won't be completly excomunicated .:D I am in & out of a Pantera myself from time to time & I havn't been booted just yet. J/K

nice choice!

Congratulations........being boatless sucks
|
We came close to buying that boat a couple years ago, but just couldn't make the commitment. Very sweet ride!
|
Way to go Griff! Don't worry, I'll whip your old boat enough for the boat of us!
|
nice ride, should not disappoint:)
|
Nice boat, great price!! Enjoy it!!
|
Congrats, Griff. Just a few more years until you can find a good used 36 :D and come back

Congrats on the new ride Griff. Looks awesome and rigged up with some nice goodies, boxes, CMI's and such. Hey I have a question about the stereo in your old boat, what amp and speakers did you install to get the sound of subs without actually having them? Thanks, Chris
|
Super cool boat and congrats. I am boatless as well now and never looked at the Active Thunder until this post. How would you compare the Active to a 31 Sonic. Arn't the Sonics sort of know for being heavy? The deck looks similer.
|
The sonic is a bit heavy and the 31 has at least 18" of swim platform in it so its more of a 29.5' boat where the AT is a true 32- don't gwet me wrong, the 32AT is no flyweight....
I've got a friend who has owned many decent brand offshore boats includinng a 28 Pantera, he said the Sonic was no where near the fit andf finish quality. They look good in the pics I've seen and seem tough, never saw one in person |
thanks Cat

It has 4 Babb(now DC GOLD) 6x9's and a Rockford Fosgate 500 or 550 4 channel amp. The amp puts out 65watts x 4. Those speakers ROCK. It even sounded very good before I added the amp. The head unit is just the basic non waterproof marine Clarion that I got from Overtons. |
Congrats Griff. Been reading your posts here on OSO and over at MWBP. You should be proud. I'm sure you know my feelings on the 32 AT from our conversations. ;)
While I'm sure the guys here on the Pantera forum hate to lose you there's another way to look at it. I think you went from the best 28 every built to probably one of the best 32s ever built. :D Buck |
Congrats Griff. I love the AT's. They are a great big water boat.
