Outdrive/prop
 

Swapped props today, and whe I did I noticed that the prop shaft has some movement. It has a little up and down movement. Might be normal, but just wanted to make sure. Does not really have any side to side movement, just up and down/vertical. Can hear the gears when hand turn the prop, but could be normal. Do not seem to have any probs when operating. :cool:

how is the whole housing -- ie the whole drive -- does it have any slop when pushing on it from either side?? you want to see if it is sloppy up towards the gimble

It all seems solid, just have this up and down play. Maybe an 8th of an inch play. Maybe slightly less. Everything seems pretty solid otherwise. When the prop was off, the shaft had this play, and still has it with the prop on. Don't really see anything else going on. Even with the movement, it seems solid. Just up and done and slight in and out. No side to side movement. Put in gear and still has the play.
