Default Well, looked at an 81 Pantera 24 Sport yesterday. ..

Was asking about value of older Panters's in a previous post. Looked at a 81 24 sport yesterday and was dissapointed. The motor is a 468 with 550 HP, and 10 hours, the trans is a borg warner that is fresh, the drive is a TRS that is fresh as well. The boat has cool colors with a all white hull and deck, with navy sides with green and yellow stripes over the navy and PANTERA in big yellow letters.

Negatives:
tabs are 24" and way to big for the boat and need cut.. Cylinders are leaking as well and tabs fall down.

The drive has considerable up and down play at the top of the gimble ring

The interior as well as the cuddy is all original and shows it's age and needs redone.

The paint on one side, navy, yellow and green are blistering and need repainted.

The deck is chaulky and needs buffed.

Both sides of the boat as seen in the deep navy color have had repiars and there is stress cracks in the side of the hull where the bulk head joins it on the inside.

The back transom has exposed holes filled where a differnt set of tabs were located.

The hull number is gone from the back transom. Owner said it was filled when he painted the transom. There is a brass plate screwed to the inside of the transom as seen when opening the engine hatch that I guess he had made with the hull number. Sounds fishy.......

Tandom painted trailer is ok, but with reconstructed title ....

What's it worth boys??????

In a pic and from 15 feet away it really looks good. I'll post a pic.

Oh, forgot to mention the bottom of the hull has a big patch where the clam shell water pick up was.

Well that sucks, but for the price its not that bad.... You can replace the interior, clean it up a little and do what you want with it....or just buy a newer one in better shape. There are some dayum good looking SE for the price.

I am sure I overlooked this somewhere but what are they asking for the boat ? Also do you have any motor shots ?
Do you have any info on the motor ?
It would help alot on a price.

Also as far as the HIN #'s goes he is probably correct on that.
The #'s on these boats in those years were just stamped in the gelcoat & if age alone don't get them the first coat of paint will. I know my old 79 24' had the original gel on it & you could only read maybe 2/3 of the numbers & even that was difficult. Give Pepe or Jo a call with the HIN #'s

& Oh yeah I agree those tabs are HUGE !!!!!!!!
No wonder the cylinders won't hold them up. I wounder what they did with the 41 Apache they took them off of.

I saw yesterday a mid 90s 24SE at a small boat dealer in Old Saybrook, CT.
Fullthrottle Ron knows the guy I believe.
I do know the boat was down at Pantera for referb a few years back.
The boat is blue with a white deck, swim platform, BBC Bravo drive.
