At Least I Look Fast Now!!

Since I can't go fast (yet), I can at least look fast!!

Just had this graphic put on the boat. It is a wrap and is suppose to be good for over 5 years. Also if you don't like it or it gets boring, you peel it off and start over!

Looks real nice in person. Based the design on the Black/grey 36 that the factory did a few years ago. Came out real nice.

nice job Kirk. I've been thinking about the same

carter38 07-27-2007 08:34 PM

looks great!

Griswald 07-27-2007 09:01 PM

I think that looks awesome. I 've been wanting to do something similar to my Fountain.

Mange 07-27-2007 09:05 PM

really like that graphics. Looks great! Is it 3M folie material? /Mange

TJ Bart 07-27-2007 09:08 PM

Looks Great! You will get more then five years out of the wrap. The material also will protect the fiberglass from scratches and the like.

Elite Marine 07-27-2007 10:11 PM

It is similar to the 3M but a special film the wrap guy has made for him only for boats.

I'm extremely pleased with it. I liked the plain white, but just wanted some color. We're still figuring out how to incorporate the eyes and logo. might just have a medium set of eyes on the back to tie it in with the interior embroidery.

that really looks nice Kirk. What does something like that cost?

I was wondering the same thing

Elite Marine 07-28-2007 07:17 AM

Around $ 125.00 per foot. Not cheap by any means, but not nearly as expensive as paint.

They claim it as durable as the gel so anything that would hurt gel will hurt this.

I put covers on my fenders and plan on being very cautious around the docks.

z.zuperboat 07-28-2007 07:17 AM

All I can say is SWEEEEEEET

G Man 07-28-2007 07:52 AM

Where do you get something like this done? I would like to look into this furthur as the result you have achieved is amazing.

Pantera24 07-28-2007 08:41 AM

Kirk real nice. Congrats.

robltc 07-28-2007 09:11 AM

As in 28' boat x 2 sides = 56'?

As in 56 x $125 = $7000!!!?

Looks great though!

tomcei 07-28-2007 05:03 PM

I've heard about quotes on vinal for around 2-3.5k.
I believe the per foot is for both sides, but i'm sure kirk can set us straight

Elite Marine 07-29-2007 09:41 AM

It is for both sides. $ 3,500.00

My bow stop took its toll on the front though so the designer and I need to come up with a solution. The bow stop hits right at the lifting eye and then the boat slides up as you winch it on the trailer. the dragging of the bow stop tore up the vinyl. I'm thinking some creative triming to get down to the gel in that area is the only solution.

Either that or somehow modify the bow stop.

Anyone have a few pictures of theirs and where the boat hits them would help!

Thanks.

Looks very nice !!!!

JO

Elite Marine 07-29-2007 05:17 PM

Thanks Jo. Wasn't trying to totally copy your design I think it's different enough that the 36 owner wouldn't be mad. I hope!

Testing a 29P Mirage plus and then the spacer this week.

You are correct about the solution... there is no vinyl in the world that can hold up to the pressure of that bow stop dragging on it.

It's clear right there anyway, right? So no problem.

To help keep a smooth line when you trim, use 1/4" fine line tape to mark your line... then use it as an edge to press the xacto blade against as you cut.

Great looking job!

TexomaPowerboater 07-29-2007 09:34 PM

Very nice.

Griff 07-29-2007 10:41 PM

Looks very nice Kirk. I was thinking it looked like a smaller purple version of the 36 Survivor.

Elite Marine 07-31-2007 06:17 PM

I almost fogot the best part - added today!
