D8,
I've got a 24 Sunsation class 6 raceboat, "Lock'd Up". I think the Sunsation is a rougher ride due to the bottom pad. The advantage of the pad is it is faster with less horsepower. With many of the OPA races on flat water, you wont go wrong with the Sunsation. Another 24' Sunsation racing OPA is "Not Guilty"-a former A class boat.
I also raced on the Carrabbas boat, 28 Pantera, in P5 two years ago-it is a great rough water boat!
I may be selling my Sunsation next year to step up. If your interested, I will sell it with or w/o engine and/or drive.

Thank you for the informative posts and excellent suggestions. Really didn't consider a Superboat or even a current race boat, but that isn't a bad idea either. Now if we can only improve the MI economy a little better, I should be looking into a 28 Pantera or a 288 Sunsation- if I was to read between the lines. Problem with that is the $60-$80k used price for one of those. If not, a clean, older 24' Pantera would look nice in the driveway. Thanks again for the help.:cool-smiley-011:

What I have learned is that a Pantera is built for life. Here is a 25 year old 28 prior to running in a 2005 poker run. Jo and Pepe are also help very hepful, they know the history on most of their boats and offer parts and service over the phone. If you find one for sale give them a call.

Pantera, for all of the reasons listed above, unless ya got kids, not much play room in the cockpit, here is my old girl, 1981 24 outboard, former race boat.
