Thanks Guys ... yeah I only wish it wasn't going to be so long before I see the numbers ....... I have a 25 Hydromotive and a 26 Bravo I, both 4 blades to start out testing with. Jo thinks maybe 75 MPH with my race layup, 70 should be for sure ...... I would be estatic with that speed from a single 530 HP in a full sized 28.

Yeah, being a newbie here I wasn't aware of how stupid a comment that was! :angry-smiley-044:

I'll follow through on the boats completion regardless if everyone's still interested ... thanks!

Everything looks very clean

Thanks Tom, you did your engine mount plate in white to show the engine off better right?? are you happy with it or is it really hard to keep clean looking? I have to refinish mine and I liked the idea of making the engine jump out visually.

Your installation is awesome clean and detailed ... I have a pic of your engine mounted as a reference for my project .....

Thanks, Mike

Thanks Mike,
The white is very easy to clean.. Yes, it shows more, but glossy powder coat and Imron paint wipes quick with a towel. I always jump in the bilge after every outing, spray a little simple green, and wipe everything down. There is usually blow by oil on and around valve covers and it can drip off the cover on to the mount or bilge. Very easy to see an stay on top of. The black paint was old and would not be as easy to clean.
I would do it again.
I will most likely powder coat my inner transom plate and every black bracket I can find when I pull the mtr.

Lookin good Mike!!
Keep up with the pics. I love these project/resto threads.
I'm at about the same stage with mine, but I'm slowing down with the winter, and of course budget.
Keep up the nice work.

Looks real nice. Was that a freshen up of a 502 or did Bill sell you a complete drop in?

Kirk, It was a rebuilt 502 I traded a custom Harley for with Scott at Shogren. Since Bill had rebuilt the engine for Scott, it was a perfect situation to have him set it up for me. I was very happy to see the dyno numbers come in above 500 HP.

I build custom bikes, usually one per winter just for fun and had a Harley Bobber that was tough to sell in Detroit with the economy imploded. It worked out perfectly with Scott, once again the Shogren team was super to work with on what could have been a very complex transaction. Highly recommended! ;)

Man that looks awesome! Looks like it was there all along ...... that is a LOT more air getting to that engine!

I'm glad you posted some clean pics of it, I really wondered how it was going to look ... great to see! Congrats !
