My 525SC

Since I mentioned it in the Shogren thread I thought I'd break it out to prevent a complete hijack...

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...ate=1182789174

It's for sale. It'll be in the boat for a couple more weeks if you want to hear it run and I'll make someone a really sweet deal on the motor! Feel free to PM or email.

Coast to coast shipping should be less than $600 (from "Freightquote"). I'd assume shipping anywhere in between would be similar or less.

Stormrider 09-06-2007 05:50 PM

:signs043: what's up ur sleeve? I hope an extra bravo...LOL!

Dude! Sweet! 09-06-2007 05:54 PM

Oh no, after I saw your sailing thread in the general section, I've decided to convert it to wind power! :D

onesickpantera 09-06-2007 05:58 PM

I know your ad says best offer but what price range you thinking? I know it's a loaded question but I have a buddy thinking about repowering.

Dude! Sweet! 09-06-2007 06:08 PM

Sort of depends on how quick and hassle free the whole thing is... I've got it advertised elsewhere for $5,500 but I could probably do better than that if the timing works out.

COMPLETE minus exhaust?

Dude! Sweet! 09-06-2007 06:51 PM

Less exhaust, sea water pump, ps pump and starter. Otherwise complete with ingition, wiring harness, criculation pump, spark arrestor, etc. Tell your buddy to make an offer. :)

I'll let him know. How many hours?

Dude! Sweet! 09-06-2007 07:29 PM

About 150 on the top end and 500 on the bottom.

I wonder???:hitfan: ( i love this icon)

Dude! Sweet! 09-06-2007 08:21 PM

Something that looks good on paper! :D

Three 2.5 EFI drags...

Nah I'm kidding. I'm just looking for a bit more efficiency at a lower cruise RPM. Once I get it going, if it turns out to be interesting I'll let the cat out of the bag!

tomcei 09-07-2007 05:43 AM

I can tell you from experence that the paper and the real application don't always comunicate to each other:greenchainsaw:

Keep us posted Dude.

Nice, but that's a little fancy for me! You know, I should have started a poll... "guess what I'm putting in the boat!"

Ah what the heck, I wasn't going to say anything, but this is what I get for getting bored and trying to procrastinate my real work...

Here's a hint.

bouyhunter 09-07-2007 05:34 PM

I'm thinking you should've dropped the 525 into my boat before you sold it. could have done it right there on the trailer with the aid of a forklift while you were making the deal with Griff and NickK.:cool-smiley-011:

thedonz 09-07-2007 07:06 PM

hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm.............................. .....

MIAMIBOYZ 09-07-2007 07:12 PM

That motor looks real familiar.....

Dude! Sweet! 09-07-2007 07:20 PM

Frank I hear you've got a thing for purple motors too! :D

I considered putting up a couple of more incriminating photos, like the one with the builder giving the thumbs up or the one with it's old home clearly visible in the back ground!

Dude! Sweet! 09-07-2007 07:21 PM

And Albert, I've said it before and I'll say it again... You're the man!

Dude! Sweet! 09-07-2007 07:28 PM

Here is one of the two motors in the Cig race boat that I just refreshed for the worlds in Key West... purple like yours...

Dude! Sweet! 09-07-2007 07:33 PM

I don't know if it's irony or coincidence that the sign in the background says "BAD DOG" but Damn if that doesn't fit!

Love the look of those natural mag blower cases! Old School all the way!

You know you're going to end up making me put the new motor in before the poker run!

MIAMIBOYZ 09-07-2007 07:39 PM

Sean we name all are motors as you can see. this is Bully and its partner is Tiny, they are 1000`s on pump gas...

Sean these are 871`s anodized, the reason we use 871`s is because they accellerate bad azz with the HP750 Holleys...

Dude! Sweet! 09-07-2007 07:54 PM

No kidding!? They look just like mag in the pictures. Awesome!

thedonz 09-07-2007 07:58 PM

when Albert drops the throttle on Bully and Tiny together, they plaster a forced smile on your face if you aren't wearing helmets................fact of the matter is that on the race course that smile is still on my face even under the helmet...

......fly robin ,fly, up, up to the sky...................!

Dude! Sweet! 09-07-2007 08:00 PM

Frank, I think you're MPH number in your sig is a bit understated!

I've got your avitar photo as my desk top at work!

thedonz 09-07-2007 08:08 PM

Sean, I still remember that race, ......... and that wave.......as for the mph, well lets just say that albert isn't the only one that breaks the triple digit mark around here.................

So now that the cat's pretty much completely out of the bag, let me introduce the infamous Bruce Seroff's Albert Special 565, moving from the Mig to the Corndog. Who says east coast and west coast can't get along!

:violent040:

:D :D :D

Thanks again guys. Can't wait to introduce the Pacific Ocean to some old school Miami Boys HP.

thedonz 09-07-2007 08:19 PM

Sean, I suggested and took that picture of albert that night....I told him he should take a picture next to his creation....I swear he was having separation anxiety as we put it on the truck.................

only two things people will say when they see that motor under the hatch......Dude!Sweet!

Dude! Sweet! 09-07-2007 08:23 PM

It's a nice clean looking motor. It's going to go good with the yellow bilge. I'm dying to hear the crackle of that exhaust through the pipes... I swear I can almost hear it!

And Albert knows that the driver's seat is his anytime he comes out to Socal!

thedonz 09-07-2007 08:29 PM

doesn't he look like a proud papa.........

Dude! Sweet! 09-07-2007 08:34 PM

And tense! I hope you took him out for some drinks after!

Don't worry, I'm going to take real good care of that motor! :chimp:

Stormrider 09-07-2007 10:23 PM

oh well, so much for my PM. :circle:

Purple rocks!!!! nice choice.

IRONMAN 09-08-2007 03:14 AM

Now this should produce some really good data. same boat, drive and prop with a new engine. I cannot wait to hear how this works out. Go Dude!!!!

tomcei 09-08-2007 07:50 AM

oh yea!! let the wrench twisting begin....
on your mark,...get set..... GO!!

Dude! Sweet! 09-09-2007 12:09 AM

Yah, it's pretty cool. I'm dying to lay into the project, but I've decided to wait until after the poker run at the end of the month. I don't want to ruin the run with any of the little teething issues that can crop up when you do a motor swap and partial re-rig. All it takes is one wire too close to the exhaust to ruin your day...

But the first week in October the motors are getting swapped. First run out will be to make sure nothing leaks or falls off and the second day out will be with three or four props. I'm going to stick with a 4 blade prop and try my stock 26, a labbed 28 and a labbed 30 at least. We'll see!

Can't F'ing wait!

TexomaPowerboater 09-09-2007 12:43 AM
