I think the reason I even posted was to get the kick in the pants, and get my priorities straight.
My wife expected to go boating this season, and all she has seen is me tearing more crap off the boat.
Well, there is nothing more to tear off, it has to go to paint, and then things need to start going back on it.

It's times like this that make you wonder what is the "Real" issue, (me, or the boat.) Ha Ha:rolleyes:
I spent some time last night looking through pics to make sure I was still moving forward.

Birdog - shoot me a PM with your number.
Scholle's still have my motor just waiting for me to get the boat ready for it.
Would you by chance have an indoor spot to store it/work on it over the winter??
I need all the help I can get.
I was already considering just buying a welder, and I may still do so, just need to teach myself to weld...

It will turn out awesome .... and when you turn that corner and start installing parts the satisfaction will come rolling in fast! All of a sudden it will start looking like your vision fast ..... THAT is a great feeling and makes it all worth it! :cool-smiley-011:

Everyone that knows about my boat has been asking how it's coming along.
I always answer, " I need time, money, and energy. When I have all three at the same time things get done. But I need all three at the same time"
Mike, you're right. We're the last of the oldschool. And some of these boats are almost older than we are.
Are you still selling your Mag? If I had the space and money I'd put it right next to my Pantera, inbetween the spot I already have picked out for the Cig Mistress that I will one day own.
Oldschool.

I know as soon as I start putting things back on I'll feel like I'm making progress.
Right now I feel like all I did was rip a running boat apart.
I've started putting a few things back together - just so I felt like I was making progress.
I'm going to talk to the painter this week, and we should start moving quickly.

This entire summer has been an absolute waste.
I've been working 12 hr days the entire summer, and have rarely had a weekend off. I have a painter that is literally across the street from my house, and a powder coater right up the road, and haven't been able to leave work long enough to go talk to them.
In the forging on with progress, I keep tearing things off the boat.
It's stripped at this point.
Windshield is off, all hardware is off, dash is out, controls and gauges are in a box, rubrail is gone, probably go out this afternoon and start removing the snaps for the cockpit cover.
It's ready for paint.
Last weekend, I had the wife help me remove the life-line (prepping for paint), and had to crawl into the bow section past the bulkhead to get to the bolts.
I was shocked at how much space is actually up there for a 24'.
I'm figuring I could probably smuggle two Cubans up there, if they are friendly or desperate, but it's probably already been done.
If you've never crawled into that bow area in a 24, here's what it looks like from the inside.

YES,

I have been up there:eek:

I may have some seat bases for you, that I fabbed up for mine, but didnt use, problem is, with my 3-man setup, one is not as deep as the other 3, are you doing standups??

Rick

Keep me posted on your schedule.
This entire summer has been a minimum of twelve hour days, and most Saturdays. I have more vaca time saved than I know what to do with - I just can't find a good time to take it.
I'll make sure to have some time next time you're going to be out this way. I don't have anything that I know of coming up that'll bring me to SoCal.

I've never actually had a Jaeger bomb. Hmmm...

Yeah,

I actually thought about making a hatch for the deck, and using it as an anchor locker, but there not that much room when ya gotta get in there to do glasswork. Do yourself a favor, and replace that whole boweye support thing if it is rotted, trust me, I had to get towed on a rough day, and was glad I did. My bases are too tall for ya.

Both 24s are nice!

bouyhunter 11-26-2008 09:35 AM

Just saw this was brought up again.
Sorry for the delay in reply guys - I've been pre-occupied with other things...
This summer absolutely sucked, and I barely touched the boat.
Working 12-14 hours everyday (no exaggeration) I didn't have the energy to do anything.
In the midst of a very likely relocation right now, so the boat is kind of on hold at the moment.
Heading South Baby!!!:drink:

Ironman - thanks for posting those pics. Those are two I've never seen of the boat.

Dude! Sweet! 11-26-2008 10:23 AM

As much as I dig my 28, I really miss that little bad-azz boat! Good luck Tim! You bring her "home" to Fla, and you'll be living the life bud!

Pismo10 10-16-2009 05:54 AM

Bouy---Any update on the red 24? Did you get it finished? New motor? Any pics?

Thanks, would love to see what you did..

Pantera24 08-02-2011 06:35 PM

Ok brother bringing this to the top to get you motivated.

bouyhunter 08-02-2011 08:06 PM

wow - i'm gonna need a day just to go through this thread.

Since all this, I moved to Arizona, changed jobs, and then moved way out in the desert in AZ to my dream house.
I'm only 20 mins away from the lake.
life has really gotten in the way of the hobbies I love.
Fortunately, I now have a HUGE garage, and the boat is safe inside.
Just had a medical setback that has me thinking once I get my strength back, the boat needs to be a priority.
In the meantime, i'm just hanging out on the side of the mountain with the coyote and roadrunners:drink:

Pantera24 08-02-2011 10:12 PM

Sounds nice....quite, relaxing and not too many idiots around I'm sure.
Well take it easy and start getting your strength back, so you can work on that bad boy.
