Winter project - porta potti in a Pantera 24SE

Apologise guys for the thread- but 'her indoors' wants a head on the boat (just wont go over the side)

So anyone got a toilet on board

- pictures, installation diagrams welcome.

Recon that it could fit under the berth.

Jo any boats with such installations?

Dude! Sweet! 10-21-2007 12:16 PM

The 24 with the OB that Lake Speed just bought had a porta-pottie that was later removed. He may be able to shoot you some photos of the location. As I recall, it was in a little hatch on the starboard side directly under the helm.

Personally, I prefer the 5 gallon pail with the toilet seat attachement that you get from West Marine. It's light, it's easy to store, you can just dump "#1" over the side and rinse the bucket before stowing and you can stick a plastic bag in for "#2" (god forbid!)... Good luck!

Here's what I'm talking about.

Tom, you're a funny dude! That made me laugh nearly as hard as that other thread you're referring to! :D :D :D

That little smilely there, couldn't be more well suited!

Cheers for the advice - not sure I can get the lass to use a bucket mind - will chase up Lake Speed for the 24 installation. There was a 70's boat over here with a head but I dont know where it is to chack it out.

LAKESPEED says his boat doesnt have a location for a Porta Potti - buckets the winning idea so far but someone must have used the cabin space (er for an installation I mean)

Nic - I hope you come up with something. It would certainly make my lady a bit happier if I could figure out how to incorporate one in our 24.

Tom that's hilarious! :D

Lee told me the boat had a portapotty that he removed. Weird.

I have looked and i can see no evidence of the boat having a porta pottie but who am i to call the dude a liar?

Dude! Sweet! 11-12-2007 06:09 PM

As I recall, down on the starboard side there's a hose and maybe one other water fitting in the cabin. He told me that was the former plumbing for the toilet which he said stunk up the cabin beyond imagination. Then again, I could have completely confused that boat with another one! :D

er - might be going of this idea - after all......

bouyhunter 11-13-2007 05:29 PM

In the past, I'd always used a detergent bottle (like a liquid tide with the large cap and the "pour" spout. Cut the spout out, and it leaves you plenty of room for the male "equipment")
Also has a handle on the side.
Can store plenty if you're in a harbor, and not a good place to dump it.
I know this doesn't help with the "her"factor at all, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Man, what a turn off :hitfan:
" hey sweety, can you spray some stink pretty down here, I just tore this place up:D

I'm going to try to install a porta pottie in that starboard area. I'll let you all know how it goes.

The Admiral says it needs a potti!!!:(

I have Lee's number. I'll call him to see if he had one before he refitted the boat.

onesickpantera 04-04-2008 10:37 AM

All I can say is you guys are brave for even thinking about putting a porta-potti in a Pantera! :cool-smiley-011:

ar15meister 04-04-2008 10:46 AM

wouldnt the rough water cause you to have some spillage??

I would just tell the broads to hang their ass over the side and giv'er.

Someone once told me thats one of the best things about boating....

Oh yah and that swim platforms are bad because then you cant cop feels while you drag girls into the boat.....:cool-smiley-027:

Nick

Are you towing that thing with a station wagon? I used to tow it with a GMC Jimmy before I bought the Dodge...

I never had any leaking other than a couple drips from the clean water/blue solution.

Dude! Sweet! 04-04-2008 05:49 PM

And I broke the hand pump (trying to figure out how to work it!) so now I don't carry the solution in the toilet, I just have the pissers use a water bottle to flush it down (or tell them to go over the side!) :D

OOOOPS!!!! You can probably get a replacement pump rod for it though.

No just moved it out of its storage stand to check out the trailer. Car is only good for about 2600lbs road legal. As you know the boat tows great - usually use a Landrover mind(borrowed).
