Took a couple of photos tonight. I had to add hydraulic steering and decided to pick up one of Scott's (Littledcsrodshop) ITS Transom and XR. He was very difficult to deal with and I lost an arm and a leg over the whole thing :D
Seriously, quite the opposite, thanks Scott! Scott's Saber is showroom new and looks like it has never been in the water! I am hoping the 7" set back will be good for the set up. I have a 496HO and will be adding CMI Headers when I reassemble. I am sending out the injectors to have them cleaned and flow tested as well. Any ideas on where to pick up some braided lines to run from my trim pump to the drive? The ITS is a liitle different and has fittings on the inner transom plate where the lines connect and run up to the front of the engine compartment where they are mounted. Greg |
Looking good Greg !!!

Its about time you broke out the camera you pain in the --- !! :p LOL..... We had an eventfull day no doubt... :D
Seriously bro. the boat looks sweet with the ITS hanging off the back !!! Can't wait to see how it runs & I must say I can't wait to see its brother hanging off the back of Old Yeller.... Thanks for the comments & good to see some progress |
I've been waiting on these pics.:evilb:
More eye candy every chance you get please. Now stop playing hop-scotch and get back to work:D |
Looking good.
cant wait to see the results w/ the ext box. |
Thanks guys. Easy Tom I know where you live dude!
Pictures will be slow know because I'M back in the cave under the house where its hard to take photos. I'll try though. I hope the ITS adds to handling but I don't expect much in terms of speed. Maybe the CMIs will offset the XR and rear weight. My biggest fear is that it will upset the boats handling/balance in some manner. We'll see soon enough. I have to order steering components tomorrow and get the injectors sent out. Greg |
call me if you want to double team it.
seriously |

went with Greg this afternoon to play. His boat ran great!
headers looked sweet and the drive and steering works very well. The wind kicked up on Lanier with a front that blew through and the water got bumpy. There were white caps every where. We had a blast running around. Thanks!!! Tom |
Oooh the seas were nasty today my friend. Was lucky enough today to have our own Tomeci back on the East Coast today to play on Lanier. Just enough wind and wave action to have a blast.
Initial results on the ITS are very good. The steering took out all the unnerving twisting coming off power. Hard to tell yet but I don't believe it has gained or lost any speed. Well, I guess it has picked up speed with the 26 bravo 1 that was on it. Need to go back to the rev 4 and see what happens. It did not take as much trim and lost the tendency to go skyward off the larger waves. Funny enough Tom took the wheel and effortlessly found a better combination of trim and tabs! Tom also looked into the bilge for short intervals and all was good! Greg |
Was the boat set up at the factory with a bravo or was it converted to the ITS from another drive? Looks great, I really like the swim step placement and the whole transom look. What Hp are you running?
|
Set up at the factory with a bravo 1 and 496 HO. Added the ITS and CMI headers this winter. No change in drive height.

Glad to hear all went well !!!!:D Sounds like you guys had some pretty good test conditions... Now if we can only get IT'S brother to make a splash sometime in the near future I can smile a bit more..
|
Yeh Scott, I checked out your new fan propulsion system and I have to say I prefer the ITS.:D Best I just pack up my sawsall and come up there and get to work on that Saber and finish it up.
I put 50 gallons in my boat today. Man did that hurt... maybe I shouldn't of been in such a hurry! Greg |
Yeah I was kinda hoping that my new forced induction drive would catch on but maybe not.. Sawzall whats that I whittled the transom out with a pocket knife & a hand file...
again I am really glad to hear everything worked out well.. & it helped the handling... Any idea how & if propslip , rpms , ect.. changed any ? or was the water to nasty to tell ? |
Scott, I don't know yet on the slip but the rpms on the bravo 1 went from 4200 to 4500. Speed was from about 65 to 70 but not gps #s so probably somewhat less. The rev 4 will be interesting and should get the rpms where they need to be.
I think the ITS helped a bunch in the rough conditions as well as the steering. I was surprised by the handling in the rough we had. The injector cleaning and flow had some effect as well as the CMIs. My injector flow was 9.6% flow difference between the highest and lowest flowing. New plug and wires also. Many changes so so performance gains are going to be hard to quantify. Any one looking for a mirage plus 25p in nice shape let me know. Also have the original bravo 1 with shower and transom assembly in excellent shape. The gimbal is tight and the bravo has less than 100 hours. Fresh water. Greg |
AWESOME!!!!!! :evilb:
|
it really is Awesome.
that boat ran nice over very choppy water. most likely a 25mph wind and white caps covered the lake slap up. It was killer:evilb: |
Nice!
