What is the cubic feet volume of the engine bay on a 24ft Pantera -Im planning on fitting an auto fire extinguiher and would like to know if 100 cu ft is enough?

I think you can do L X W X H

Gotta figure: Beam - 6'6" to 7' Length - 4' to 4'6" Depth at keel - max 4' I'm thinking max 126 CF - and that isn't taking into consideration for the 24 degree deadrise. I think your 100 CF is probably about dead-on. Mind you, this is just a quick calculation off memory and approximation, but I think you'd be pretty good with the 100. |

this is something you could go over kill on and feel good about it.
It would be an easy sell to the wife:evilb: |
You're right, it would be easy to go over-kill on this one.
But, if budget is an issue (as it would be in my case), I would imagine these are already rated at an "over-kill" rating. I'd spend the additional money elsewhere - unless it would look cooler:D But, that's just me. |
The motor is probably about 3x3x3 so there goes another 27ft^3
Does anyone else think that blocking off the rest of the boat would be a good idea (just in case)? |

Does anyone else think that blocking off the rest of the boat would be a good idea (just in case)? I wasn't even taking the motor, transom assy, batteries, etc... into account. Blocking off the area between the bilge, and under the cockpit/down the gunwales raises another good point. Before this turns into over-analyzing this like what would happen in a GD thread, I'll just say I'd feel comfortable with the 100CF without blocking off anything. |
