24 trailer fitment question

The trailer that my boat came on is an aluminum float on with the two wooden rails. I was looking the other day and it appears that the hull centerline sits on one of the cross members of the trailer. my question is should this be?
if so it looks that the hull will drag along this beam during launch if it does not completely float off.

would it be alright if I were to move the wooden beams up such that the hull would only be supported along the sides by the beams and not at centerline???

also what is the best positioning of the beams on the hull? right now mine sit about 5 inches from the edge when looking from the back.
anyone have a similar setup that could post a pic?

thanks in advance

The hull should not sit on a cross beam. What if you hit a pothole? The boat will bounce up and down on tthe metal...not good. Ideally, you should have 4 bunks supporting the hull: 2 on the outside(where you describe the current bunks) and 2 down lower, near the keel.

My 24 trailer had the two large pieces of wood that the strake set on. The trailer also had rollers on all of the cross members. I would think that taller wood (if they are already spaced properly) would do the trick.
