whats this worth ??????

I was looking at this boat, it has 84-85 powerheads, no offshore exhuast and bobs nose cones lowers (basically fishing motors), no real guages like gafrig etc. and is 20 years old???????? any idea a real number on this will be considering that the survey shows no rot.....

Regardless, i dont think its worth what they will take for it.

OK, well... i'll go 20k.

Pantera24 09-24-2008 01:29 PM

I agree 20k --- 25k max.
Heck they bought the hull DIRT cheap and maybe have spent another 10k max on it.

I dont even think that much, Dustin here on offshoreonly.com had a 1992 28 Pantera full pleasure (Gelcoat) gail paik paint stripes, pleasure boat with extended cockpit and a pair of Evenrudes 1992 on the back with a complete interior by F1 interiors done a month before it went for sale and sold the boat for 20k and had it for sale for months.... On this market I tend to think 13-14k for a three man bolstor is about right..... Whats your say..

Pantera24 09-24-2008 02:50 PM

Yea in today's market they may have to give it away!! hahaha
I know for a fact that hull sold for 5k or less......because I called when it went for sale and it had already sold...argh.
As for Dustin's boat I still kick myself for not buying it.
Oh well...

Still kicking myself

I must agree. You are basically buying the hull because after you buy it, you will replace everything. New engines, gauges, maybe even change the layout. Big $$$.

I bought Dustin's boat and I am still kicking myself. Great boat but small projects always end up as big projects unless you have a great amount of willpower which most people involved in boats do not have.

So now I have two outboard powered Panteras with two sets of older motors on the ground along with everything that I replaced in both boats. But I am having fun and I did say that I had no willpower. :evilb:

Make an offer based on what you think you will spend on it (x 2 to be safe). It is only time and money!

Excellent point especially based on the pics. By the looks of it, the steering is not complete, and if those motors are 83-85 200's, that means they're 2.4 liter and carb'd. The motors complete aren't worth more than about $2000-$2500 each (that's if they're in decent running condition.)

true, how's your 28 with the 300XS's running? Got any new top end numbers?

truetrini 09-25-2008 06:58 AM

Ziemer

Sad to say but work has gotten the better of me and I have not had time to play with props or engine heights. Right now 74.4 is the best I have seen with the Bravo 4 blades (as I received it). I know there is more to be had, just need time.

Thanks for asking. I will post the numbers when I do the tests.

Andy,

My 28 was a good deal because for starters it is a very functional and desirable layout with extended cock pit and twins on a bracket ( It appeals to a broader cliental, easier sell. ) and it was in the water turn key. 2nd I re-did everything that was needed to be reliable and completely re-did both motors. I only sat in the interior once after done! Of coarse Darin ( trutrini ) took it to another level with all he did with the enormous amount in up grades and time spent. ( Sorry he has not had the time to enjoy it yet. ). A former race boat with a 3 man bolster is not exactly targeting allot of people and I would imagine it to be a very difficult sell especially in todays climate. The motors are junk and you have 3 head aches hanging off the back that will drink. What you are really getting here is a hull and deck with interior. Be prepared $$$. Its only saving grace is that it is a Pantera and for a rare person that may want the 3 man race version I think your numbers are very fair around 14K.
