28 Pantera info
 

I am currently boat shopping and one of the boats i have interest in is the 28 pantera. are there any things to look for on these boats, how is the ride and build quality, is there any difference/advantage of twins or single, is the cabin useable space wise, any years better/different than others? thanks for any input, also has anyone seen or have any info on the boat for sale in ct with the 525?

I had a 1996 28 with a single 525SC. Ride quality, rigger and build quality was all excellent. It was great boat and I had it about 5 years. They are wave crushers. The cabin is pretty good sized and definately has useable space. I only sold it because I wanted to go bigger and wanted more freeboard in the cockpit for my kids.

Griff, what was top speed with that set-up?

67-68mph

I have a 89 with twin 468s with Trs drives the best I've seen is 75.2 on gps.

Are you talking about the one in Milford, CT with the american flag graphic? I know the owner and it is well cared for. I don't think it gets used too much.

I have seen this boat in person and it is in great conditon. I would buy it if I had the $.

What kind of price were you thinking of for your pantera?

We seen you in metro beach bay this past season.

I had it listed for 75k but have dropped the price to 65k.
Yeah I run around Put-in-Bay a few times a year and try to
hit Lake St. Clair a few time a year. I live close to Cincinnati Ohio.
This boat handles the rough waters of Lake Erie very well.....

You can't go wrong with a pantera. Absolutely great wave crushers. Just bought ours this past season, very great riding boats. Good Luck!!!

Hey great boat, its a bit out of my price rang. But way off topic how does that 1500 Avl. pull that pantera? all aspects of towing. i have a 2500HD but been thinking of down sizing trucks but current 2500HD is paid for.

I got one for sale love to talk about it cheep so cheep I cant tell you cause it will cause a STAMPEED

The Avalance 1500 was too small for towing any distances.
Personally I think you need the 2500 or 3500 to tow the Pantera any lengthy distances.

B-Stubbs has a kick azz Pantera and it sounds like it may be priced right....better jump on it

I would keep the 2500HD for towing. It towed my Pantera easily. My 32 AT is about 3500# more on a steel trailer than my 28 Pantera was on an aluminum trailer and it tows it just fine too.

Does anyone still have a 28 Pantera (single engine) for sale? If so, I am interested.
