How to lock stand up bolsters with drop outs?
 

Read in a Thread that JO says "We use a pin to lock them down in to place so they are not moving around in the down position."

Somebody got at picture of the solution?

I think that might have been added to newer boats. My 1996 28 did not have any way to lock the drop outs in the down position.

Post #81 in http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/p...-panteras.html shows what your looking for if you look hard enough on the passenger seat. I believe some Velocity seats have a simular setup.

On my 1996 28, the drop downs dropped to the side and would bump the gunwale in rough water. I just put some rubber stoppers where they hit.

I got the drop downs dropped to side to, and have rubberstoppers where they hit to, but i dont like the noise when the slam.

Do you have any close up pics of the seat in the 'down' position?

A solution, that may only be temporary, would be to put some female velcro on the seat bottom at contact point, and male velcro on the hull liner. With industrial strength velcro... it should hold it in place.

i got one for ya. take a magnet on a bracket(small) you can find something at homo depo or radio shack. The stuff that holds cabinet doors and what not. Mount the mag under the seat. Get a small piece of metal plate paint it white and pop rivot it or glue (4600)it to the gunwale (side )

Search hard enough and you can find the perfect kit in a bag.


Or you could always run a sheet rock screw thru both the seat and side of the boat to hold it down. LOL
