Martin Lai's new boat as seen at Cowes this past August during the Cowes Torquay Cowes race. 9th overall. More to come from this machine no doubt! Sure looked the business.

Looks like the guys hit something big and heavy out there! All of the boats took quite a pounding during the race. Numerous broken windshields, broken ribs and a lot of stuffs (one boat crew stuffed around 30 times! A horrible following sea that didn't allow some of the slightly smaller boats enough speed to get up and over the troughs!)

Such a big freeboard must have been a godsend during the race.

Just noticed - what's the deal with those tabs being lower than the hull?

They are Arneson Rocker plates. They are mounted flush with the bottom.

I was told that they came in second overall to Buzzis 46'
quadruple diesels on Fridays Cowes race and heard they were leading overall on Sunday's Cowes Torquay Cowes race to the halfway point until they experienced the mishap with the drives and props..

Buzzi in the lead all the way.

In the Cowes 100 race on the friday the guys came in 2nd overall to Buzzi who romped home 1st. (Also class A so 2nd in class also).

For the CTC the boat came in 9th overall and 3rd in class A. Trust me though - to finish at all was a great achievement! (13 finishers).

Optical illusion! I can see now how they follow the underside of the hull!
