28 race weight??
 

how much does a 6 man race set up 28 pantera weigh?? trying to figure out shipping.. im figuring 5-6k unrigged. my 28 twin full cabin im told is between 7and 8k..... help me out guys

I was figuring a 28 @ 7500 - 900 to 1k per motor/drive - 800 interior lbs + 500 for race bulkheads etc....
But that's all rere math

If my memory serves me correct the number was 2400 kilo on my old 28 Race.
A 3 man boat with single bigblock XR/Imco.

The site lists the single as 5200 lbs. If that is accurate add the weight of the trailer and that should get you close. Probably have a little cushion as the race version doesn't have a cabin.

I know my fully dressed big block weighed 1000-1100 lbs.

Single engine pleasure boats are 5200-5500# dry weight.

Yeah i bought one off of a friend of mine. Its red. He took it off his 38 top gun. I just hope i have room above my tail pipes. If not back to the drawing board.

if i can wrap this deal up would be lookin for swim plat and somthin about the rear hatch..need a sunpad, it has the raised hatch (no pad), or possibly just laydown a fat towel.

I would guess the 28 6 pack less engine and drive on an aluminum trailer at right around 5500-6000#.

Bad boat back in the day! TNT/United racing smallbocks...the sh!t.

did some research. it was a bad ass machine back in the day. should be a fun project. the 2nd owner was an employee of pantera and from what i understand he is the one that made it a single bigblock from the twin small blocks. which makes me feel a little better rather then having some "Joe Hackjob" redoing the stringers and transom. i will keep everyone posted as this all transpires

i talked to sean when i bought my first pantera. he was a previous owner. super nice guy. took the time to mail me the spare key he had for it from when he owned it !
